Cindy needs a supportive family to offer time and tolerance to allow their new dog to settle. NB Our Rescue asks owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters, as dog law changes place dog's lives at greater risk.

Known background: Cindy was found stray/abandoned & unclaimed within a council pound. We stepped forwards to offer Cindy a Rescue place. She is now spayed and chipped. and has commenced vaccination. Cindy was in foster within a multi-dog household.

Visit Cindy's thread for daily updates, lots of pictures and videos. Please click to submit Online Application We will match you with a dog that suits your lifestyle, please remain open we successfully home 350 dogs per annum. We work fast to secure our dogs their loving homes.

***PLEASE HELP: We have to ask for suggested min. donation £175 at the time of adoption, to support so many dogs in kennels. We have no state sponsorship and exist on the goodwill of the public and our supporters. Rescue Remedies offers their dogs back up for life.

Cindy is settling in after her operation and true to terrier form is investigating her room, basket, toys (including demolishing a soft toy as only a terrier can) just 24 hours later. She is such a lovely and pretty girl, who looked a little sad when she arrived but has really perked up and is enjoying lots of fuss and attention from us all and particularly my daughter and son. We even had a little walk on lead in the garden today and a little walk again tonight around the cul-de-sac taking in the neighbourhood...

With regard to settling in, she has been very good with only one small accident on the first evening and has slept through the night, in her room without a peep. She has not met my other terriers yet as she is still resting after her spay but she has heard them and seems interested but not worried by their barks etc. Very calm and not stressing about noises or being left for short periods, when she just sleeps or watches the world through the window from her basket.

I am sure of the coming days we will also see more of her personality as she settles further.

Lovely Cindy is now snoozing along side me. I wanted to share how small she is but this is proving quite a challenge to take a photo really showing this despite having used props / my hand stroking her / lying on floor to take a photo etc..! So, I have attached one more photo of her from today resting next to a (normal sized) cushion and with a standard soft toy! Yes, she really is this tiny but packed full of personality and fun. Just waiting for the right forever home, and what a lucky family that will be. Completely smitten with this little girl and can't wait to see her rehomed and loved Kiss of love.gif xx

So, the gorgeous Cindy is continuing to grow in confidence and proving to be a wonderful little "big" personality. She has really settled into "home life" with gusto and is enjoying all that brings. What a wonderful addition to any family she will be bighug.gif She has now discovered toys which she is beginning to understand the purpose of...if soft and furry pulling apart mainly (got to love a terrier Kiss of love.gif ), gravy bones, which she was burying in her basket but has now worked out can be eaten...yum, yum..and cuddles which she loves in abundance and she is particularly engaged with my daughter who she gets so excited to see...wagging, play bowing and just joyful - truly wonderful to see this little girl beginning to love and engage in life..!

With regard to getting the best from this lovely bundle if cuteness..she would benefit from some basic training and socialisation (especially good for terriers I think given they can be somewhat headstrong regardless of size). These classes / training can also be a lot of fun to do and builds a great bond between everyone. Also, building Cindy's confidence around traffic and cars would help her to relax more on her walks. Any loud noises such as garage doors closing, car doors slamming etc. at the moment make her jump, though she does calm down once confidently managed on the lead. So I think with a confident owner and maybe another dog who behaves well near roads on the lead, this would help enormously to help her she would overcome this nervousness very easily.

In the house she is very affectionate and wants to play and roll on her back for tummy rubs...she is very much still a puppy in her manner and has that endearing sense of fun and discovery for life. She has met and been okay with our Staffie Nelly (though perhaps a little jumpy and puppy for our 14 year old lady) and she is aware of my other two and has walked with them on lead which we will continue to do whilst she stays to encourage her to get used to other dogs.

Little Cindy really has it all - looks, personality, fun, love and is very biddable to training...and soooo much more beside to give!!!

Fingers crossed she finds her home soon
