Willow needs a supportive family to offer time and tolerance to allow their new dog to settle. Willow needs support and training on her walks and wears a muzzle as she can become defensive with other dogs: She is currently being managed in public to offer her stewardship so she can settle outside as she was fully socialised as a young dog. NB Our Rescue asks owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters, as dog law changes place dog's lives at greater risk.

Willow experiencing the canal!

Learning how to walk nicely. She is very responsive

Known background: Willow grew up with a family with children but didn't cope and was passed on to a lady who has had her permission to keep a dog withdrawn from her lease due to Willow's behaviour outside with other dogs. We stepped forwards to offer Willow a Rescue place and save Willow's life. Willow is neutered, vaccinated and chipped. Willow came into our care 13th Aug 15 . Willow is currently in Guildford Kenns.

Visit Willow's thread for daily updates, lots of pictures and videos. Please click to submit Online Application We will match you with a dog that suits your lifestyle, please remain open we successfully home 350 dogs per annum. We work fast to secure our dogs their loving homes.

***PLEASE HELP: We have to ask for suggested min. donation £175 at the time of adoption, to support so many dogs in kennels. We have no state sponsorship and exist on the goodwill of the public and our supporters. Rescue Remedies offers their dogs back up for life.

Willow has very little staffie in her, as you can see she has a very whippety body
Willow1.JPG
Her energy is quite collie or sighthound. Bikes, runners, boats, birds all need chasing/herding ;) She currently doesn't really understand walks and needed lots of encouragement to run around in the paddock. Despite having a muzzle she is not trained to wear it and gets very upset when you try to put it on. She is at her happiest in her kennel (which makes me very sad) and adores the kennel girls already. She's quite leapy in her efforts to show affection but is super cute with her kisses.
Willow is a confused little puppy who needs some time and input, but she'll get there. Here's her wet little face on our walk on Friday, such a beautiful girl.

Agree Laura. Willow is a gorgeous little girl but just does not know walks or treats or cuddles. She is so lovely and the kennels girls do indeed love her because she is so good in her kennel. However with lots of patience and taking this gorgeous little girl out she will soon learn that the world is not scary but indeed it is full of love, fun and excitement. xxxx

Wonderful to meet this beautiful little girl today, willow is quite uneasy but calmed down quickly, it is clear that willow has not been lead trained but with gentle encouragement and lots of positive reinforcement with talking she was ok. I spent lots of time with willow today calming her and training, while we were walking round she did take her muzzle off but seemed more relaxed without it. We did see some of the other RR dogs and Willow did have a lot to say about that but ears were up and tail was wagging. Willow doesn't have a bad bone in her body she just needs training. The best part of our walk was when we sat down and had a cuddle, not the first time, but the second. We walked round and sat where we cuddled the first time, Willow knew straight away what was coming and got very excited when we got the the same spot again, she remembered that this is were we had lovely cuddles. Willow is just a pup and needs training but she is a wonderful girl and I really look forward to spending lots more time with her, helping her with her learning :biggrin.gif:

Wonderful Willow and I had another great walk today. We went for a little run to burn off some energy first - which willow loved! She is so cute running and really enjoys it, really lovely to see her focused and happy! We then did some more lead work. Willow was even better today than we got to on Sunday. She was very responsive and quickly walked well, I am so proud of her. She is so clever! We came accross some dogs today and although again she had a lot to say to them she quickly calmed down and was more distracted by me talking to her. Willow loves a cuddle and really likes to sit on your lap! She is soft in nature and soft to touch! I really look forward to seeing her again tomorrow :smiley-gen132.gif:

Yet more amazing progress with Willow today! Shes is coming along so quicky! We walked passed Tracey and Polly today right out of the kennals. This was when Willow was the most excited (as most of the dogs are) Willow did not pay much attention at all to Tracey and Polly, she also did not make a peep which is great! Later in the walk we passed Amanda and Sasha, again Willow did a great job! She did was a little talkative but we carried on past (Sasha was also amazing!) I stood and talked to Amanda for a minute and willow was very good! She stood interested but didn't try to pull away. Every time I take Willow she is getting getting for longer periods, this is great progression! We are also learning to sit on command while out on a walk. I am so proud of the progress Willow is making! Brilliant girl!

What a difference a week and some consistency make! Willow walks very nicely now and responds brilliantly to a little 'ah,ah' when she gets excited. She's still a leapy loony when she comes out of kennels but she's young and excited about life so we don't mind. Just need to work out what toy she enjoys as she's not treat orientated and needs a big reward for all her hard work.

Hot girly needed some shade so under the tree we went

Nice walks with Willow today, was calm pretty much straight away, we passed a shepherd, Tazz and Rupert and she had a little bit to say but not much and soon walked on :) Introduced willow to the clicker today to see if we can use this as a way of reward and she seemed to respond to it quite well! Will try again soon! She has come on leaps and bounds already :)

Willow didn't let the rain bother her today! Excited as always but calmed down staught away! Willow went to the toilet on our walk today showing she really has calmed down so much already as this is the first time she has! She followed her nose a lot which was great! Willow is learning how to be a dog, and she is doing a great job! :biggrin.gif:
