Marley Staffie DOB 03.08.13 Seaford East Sussex

Marley's Story: Marley was found stray. His microchip revealed at least two homes, each with no commitment - just selling on - and Marley was eventually abandoned. We offered a Rescue place and saved Marley's life. Marley arrived in November 2014, and has matured in our Rescue. His history with us shows he has progressed massively and is so ready for his forever home. Marley is now neutered and fully vaccinated. He was in boarding kennels near Guildford awaiting his new family.

Marley loves people. He is a big baby, melting hearts. He nestles into you for strokes and cuddles. Marley can be bouncy in the home initially and excited receiving visitors. Marley has crate phobia and has probably been abused by being shut in one for too long. He can be a bit chewy and needs to work through this phase with Kongs and other safe chews; he loves human company and direction and would thrive in a companion home. He can be a little leapy, occasionally mouthy when enthused, so not for small children. He loves travelling and feels secure walking beside you. Marley also loves sofa lounging, especially when it's with his people. He would enjoy his own garden for play time and zoomies.

Marley lacks self-confidence around other dogs. Marley will need an experienced owner to keep him even-keeled, and focus his attention on confidence building, socialisation, play, and learning. Marley wears a muzzle in public as he can get stressed if challenged by another dog. He will calm and settle, as this is a fear reaction and has no malice. Marley can be left for short periods, and would thrive in an active, dog-centred home.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

We came forwards for Marley and I collected him in the late afternoon and he happily travelled in the front passenger seat as we sped through the bright lights of the City of London. Marley has a wow factor and hopefully will be homed soon.

Marley came out for a walk at Broxbourne before going to Godstone. He joined Doris and Tia and was very well mannered with both of them. He has a lovely nature and a head that looks too big for his body, with a smile to match
Marley travelled in the car to Godstone so well. Once on the move he settled down in the back and was no trouble whatsoever, despite the long journey, then a run in the paddock before he met the staff at Godstone and boy did he make a good impression, I don't think I've ever seen a dog greet complete strangers with such enthusiasm and joy. :D

I walked Marley today and he is a friendly boy. He has become a bit nervous in the kennels, he is such a little chap, bless him. He is a bit excitable and can grab the lead sometimes but needs a gentle "walk on". Very cuddly but flinched a bit around his head. Needs gentle TLC whish is guaranteed at Godstone! Very sweet. Sorry it's not a good photo, he wouldn't keep still!

I have walked Marley a couple of times this week and he is adorable. He looks so young and acts with all the enthusiasm of a young dog. This can sometimes mean he grabs at the leads but I am sure this will settle down once he gets used to being taken out for more walks.

He is a pretty little thing, no doubt about it but his coat is also stunning too. That smile and those dark eyes ensured I swooned every time I looked at him. He enjoyed paddock time with games of fetch and also loved just hooning around off lead. A proper, dapper little staffie chap!

Marley was homed for a month with a family. Marley is still a puppy dog and he need lots of support to settle. Marley is still working through his chewy phase due to lack of opportunity in his development. Good boys, good food, good company, oh and, good commands. Marley will find a committed family who can offer him support and understanding and his kind heart will always win him through.

I got to walk the gorgeous Marley today. He is such a handsome fellow with a good dollop of cute too. Every time I see him I just think wow! So as you could guess I am quite a Marley fan. We had a lovely walk but the best bit was sitting down in the shade at the midway point. Marley showed me the staffy-stretch (photo below!) and then came to me for cuddles and wriggles and treats. Marley seemed so much calmer than previous times I have walked him. In the past he has got excited easily and sometimes mouthy but not today, I kept it nice and chilled and Marley responded in a very chilled-out calm manner. He loved the cuddles and fuss. All of which he got in abundance. Impossible not to love this staffy-boy.

It was very muggy yesterday so during my walk with Marley we sat in the field and Marley enjoyed commando crawling along in the damp grass to cool down. I took the opportunity to get some pictures and videos. Lovely boy. :smiley-gen132.gif:
