Amazing Grace, it has to be said 0002.gif]

Grace has made us pleased as punch this afternoon woo.gif]

Her best friend Anne came to visit her and she was sooooo excited (Grace and Anne equally so I think !!!) blob6.gif] blob6.gif]

P5074629.JPG
Anne loved to see Grace so happy and relaxed and oh so very loving - Grace was thrilled to see Anne and loved showing her how she loved the garden, coming and going from inside - we sat outside for a cuppa and Grace just loved it, two humans to love who love her loads xxx thumbs.gif
... and so we hatched a plan ! Grace had been so happy and relaxed in the pub garden last night we thought we'd try a short car trip to the common up the road, park up beside the grass and out onto the grass and see how Grace felt about walkies ...

Coming out my house Grace only had eyes for the car, no problem with that, in we all got and 2 minutes up the road, parked up beside the common and .....................
......................... much to our delight Grace loved walkies woo.gif] woo.gif] woo.gif] woo.gif] woo.gif]
P5074630.JPG
Words of encouragement and praise from both of us of we set across the common, her tail stayed up and her momentum forward and lots of 'good girls' from us and Grace forged on forwards thumbs.gif She definitely feels safer walking on the grass, as we veered onto the pathway she'd feel a little uncertain and and when we came to cross the road she looked slightly anxious and her tail dipped between her legs but with our encouragement and enthusiasm Grace quickly decided she'd join back in and ran across the road to the grass on the other side, back along the opposite side of the common...
P5074631.JPG
Grace leading the way and choosing our direction, crossing over paths and ultimately choosing to walk along the pavement in the direction that was well away from my car so we let her lead and followed her - bless, we were sooooo proud, these are the heartburst moments to see our lovely dogs grow so in our care xxx :smiley-love014.gif: :smiley-love014.gif: :smiley-love014.gif:
P5074632.JPG
Grace walked all along the path and turned left up the next road and we were back to the common again, but no rush back to the car, we meandered along and this time crossed the road without difficulty for Grace, she was enjoying herself, 20 mins of walkies :smiley-chores002.gif:

Exactly where Grace's confidence came from I'm not sure - relaxed down enough in foster this weekend ? both Anne and I with her, both trusted people ? not straight from the house ? I'm really not sure but it just goes to show with love and encouragement and an understanding owner Grace will thrive and all that confidence and love she already has indoors can with time and understanding be enjoyed outside too woo.gif]

Grace was very quick to jump back in the car but she did manage a quick drink from the dog bowl first and then home we went - big grins all round :D :D :D
Time for lollipops sat in the shade in the garden and Grace wanted to join in ! Who knew grace would love lemonade lollys but she did !!

Onwards and upwards baby girl xxx [0128.gif]

Anne then slipped away as I occupied Grace in the garden so as not to stress her, we practiced her 'paw, not that she needs practice, look at this accomplished little lady, adorable xxx

All that excitement made for a hungry and weary girl so an early dinner and now snoozing next to me on the sofa, such a special girl and will end this post as I started, Grace, super special girl, she really is Amazing Grace love4.gif xxx

Now these videos and those 2 photos above may just be a doggie enjoying a walk in the evening sun but for me and those that have met Grace in kennels, this is priceless love4.gif xxxxx

I should add we walked near to lorries, cars and motorbikes and Grace was supercool around all of them, no reaction at all, took them in her stride :D

Back in my car Grace likes to be on my knee for a cuddle, I know she knows how proud I am of her , i hold her tight and tell her what a clever brave girl she is xxx love4.gif
Time for the off and I gesture to the passenger seat - look at this gorgeous girl with the loveliest smile, I think she's super pleased with herself too thumbs.gif

Grace continues to delight me love4.gif

But I can confirm she is no guard dog !!! I’ve had a guy round this morning to fix my laptop and another to service my house alarm, both times when there was the knock on the door and she ambled towards it with a waggy tail ! and no barking at all !!! Both were greeted like long lost friends, no nerves whatsoever, lots of tail wagging and all very relaxed and she just would have liked to wash their faces for them with her kisses !!!

They are still here and she’s happily playing with me in the lounge and garden, comes when I call and then occasionally pops back to see what they are both up to !

Grace is such an easy girl at home, an utter delight, friendly, loving and very gentle, and the very best company, and now having unlocked to some degree the key to enjoying a walk with her, she really is everything you could want in your beloved woofer love4.gif angel13.gif]

It’s hard to believe she is the same girl as the one I brought home from kennels last Friday, come on Grace’s home, kennels is not the place for you so praying we find your home soon gorgeous girl :crossfingers.gif: And she really has only been here since Friday so imagine the progress you can make with her walking confidence by supporting her out and about and giving her the positive happy experiences she needs to regain all her confidence in herself and know she will never be abandoned again.

Love this girl to bits and so not looking forward to taking her back to kennels later xxx

Grace is looking rather pleased with herself in these photos and for good reason. We were in the Poet's hut having celebratory cuddles.
Grace took me to the paddock today! She was keen to get there and we had a lovely time playing with the tennis balls. Today was the first time Grace has brought back the ball and given it to me to throw again as she normally likes to keep hold of it. Buoyed along with that progress we headed off into the woods for a walk. Grace was slightly reluctant but was persuaded to follow me and we both enjoyed a lovely walk exploring the woods. On the way back we went to the Poet's hut where Grace was happy to jump up on the sofa and enjoy special cuddles.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Grace on Sunday and I am so proud of how far she has come. When we first met a month or so ago, she was reluctant to go outside and we sat in her kennel. On Sunday, we went across the back field and sat in the grass watching the other dogs in the paddock, she was alert and interested. We then moved to sit under the tree at the front, we watched the comings and goings as people came and went, with her tail wagging it was a real delight. I do hope she finds her forever home soon with people who will continue to build her confidence and see her personality shine.
