I took Troy out from kennels for few hours this week. He travelled really well in the car, on the way out he tried the boot with the rear seats down, and on the way back he tried the front seat so he could enjoy the open window.

We went to my dad's house. Troy met my dad happily and was immediately enjoying stokes and fuss from him. Troy was very calm in the house, sometimes I think he still thinks he is the size of a puppy but when you have grown as much as him and are still relatively young it is understandable.

Troy is still very much like a puppy in some ways, he is unsure of new things but can easily be reassured. He is not a fan of mud so we took him on a pavement walk. He is not one for rushing on his walks and likes to amble along enjoying all the smells.

All in all this is one terrific dog. I you are a big dog lover, especially Ambulls then this is your boy. I love Troy to bits and anyone who gets to know him soon feels the same!

PS. he also seems to enjoy cruising in the car listening to the Archers, now that is my type of dog! thumbs.gif See in the video below. love4.gif

Having a nose in the bowl of nuts, he did try to eat one but soon stopped when asked, I told him he would not enjoy the shells!

I often see Troy out on his walk with Terry. He plods along, calm as a cucumber. Troy is a friendly boy - happily accepting fuss from other walkers.xx.

Our Rescue is honoured to have Troy as part of it. What a character - he captures everyone's hearts. He cavorts at the kennel door - serious guarding... enter his kennel and offer friendship and he is your best mate! This is so typical of American Bulldogs. "Hey, stay away!... (enter kennel in friendship) oh hello, who are you?... (relaxed open friendship tone and gesture) oh great! nice to meet you! Outside of his kennel he meets and greets and attracts people towards him. He is a clown inside with a slightly bemused but serious 'deadpan' demeanour, and he plays it.

His kennel faces the paddocks and he puts a lot of dogs at their ease when approaching his kennel. 'Troy the boy' is magestic and our volunteers have opened him up to trust and know he is deeply loved.

Here are some recent videos of Troy and some pics. The videos show how lively and clown-like he can be and also how gentle and loving he is. Impossible not to love this boy to bits! love4.gif

I spent some time with Troy yesterday in the paddock. I found out that he prefers cuddles and extracting treats from me rather than playing and getting some exercise! He clearly does not realise his size and when I sat down on the grass he came bowling over towards me and I had to move quickly to stop him knocking me flat with his enthusiasm for a cuddle. He did try and sit on my lap, then rolled over for tummy rubs. He loves sitting on top of the steps and surveying his surroundings and when I joined him there he was happy just to sit and have a cuddle for ages. He is a bit of a clown and anyone adopting him would have a companion who would not only make them feel loved but would make them smile every day.
