Lotty's Story: Lotty was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Northern council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Lotty is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Lotty was in boarding kennels near Guildford whilst awaiting her new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Lotty's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
26 Nov 2018 Hi Lynne, Sorry to bother you I have a poundie, council gave me to today to find her somewhere but sadly nothing found. Have begged for extension but she has to be out by Wednesday or she is pts. They don't work with any rescues and this is first time been asked to help them. She is staffie cross, leggy, called Lotty. This is her info: Urgently seeking a rescue space is staffie cross girl Lotty. She is a 3 year old staffie, unsure if she’s spayed, She is Ok with dogs around but not great on contact. Becoming extremely stressed in kennels. She has been moved to a quiet area and she has settled down again. She is very people friendly. vaccinated and chipped. She is hard to assess in kennels but is ok with very submissive dogs she doesn’t see as a threat. Got on with my female sbt, pound uses for tests as she reads body language really well. Think it’s just lack of understanding and socialising and with some work will get better xx With people she’s excitable and loves to play xx Cathy

What a super girl. There was a lot going on in the car park when Lottie arrived and I think it was a little over whelming for her so new walker Emily, and I, took her off for a walk. Lottie soon calmed down and walked nicely on the lead, taking her time to sniff all the new smells along the way. She is a lovely friendly girl who then posed beautifully for her photos and was happy to gently take treats.

I walked the lovely Lotty on Saturday. She was very friendly and pleased to be out. She walks very nicely, with no pulling. Seems to be a really nice dog and very beautiful - dotty / spotty Lotty! love4.gif

Lotty continues to do very well. She is meeting lots of dogs and mixes well with them. She did tell one off for being too bold but it was all bluster and within minutes she was walking beside him. She is a 'go getter' and loves to stride out. Sadly she had met 3 families now but she doesn't engage when out on her walks and I don't think she does herself any favours, whereas in her kennel she is delighted to see you and offers Staffie love.

I walked Lotty for the first time this afternoon, she is such a lovely friendly girl. We didn't meet any other dog walkers whilst out so cannot comment on any reaction but she walks at a good pace and enjoys smelling all new smells on the way. When we got back to the kennels she was very gentle when offering her sausage treats. I will definitely look forward to walking the lovely Lotty again. love4.gif

Lottie and I went for another good walk again this afternoon, she gave me a wonderful greeting and was very excited to be going out. She is a lovely looking girl with black spots under her white coat on her body. Whilst out we saw another dog being walked just ahead of us, Lottie was very keen to catch up but they went in a different direction before we caught up with them. This girl is such good company and a delight to be with. When we got back to her kennel she enjoyed her treats. Heart fill with love.gif]

I walked Lotty for the first time today. What a little sweetheart love4.gif Lotty took no notice of other dogs in the kennel block as we passed by. We walked with Teresa who was walking Sonny. Both dogs were as good as gold with each other, although they weren't allowed to get close together. Lotty was quite happy to be in the lead up the narrow pathway. She walked really well with no pulling at all and really seemed to be enjoying her walk. Towards the end of the walk, we let Teresa and Sonny take the lead. At that point Lotty started to pull quite a bit. I think she took rather a dim view of another dog taking the lead! Lovely friendly girl love4.gif xx

It was great meeting Lotty earlier, she's a great looking girl and has a lot of love to give some special someone out there.

Here's pretty Lotty today. She's an all around great dog and would love to shower her future owner in love and affection.

Walked Lotty for the first time on Sunday. She was friendly and easy to get ready but not in an over the top sort of way, she was just interested in getting the harness on and getting out and getting going! :smiley-chores002.gif:
I think this sweet girlie could walk all day, she was keen to keep moving and did pull a bit, but it was a steady going forward sort of pull not a lungy pull so totally manageable.
I am sure if she was in a home with enough exercise and mental stimulation she would settle and relax more. We walked with Sonny (and Linda) and she was totally unbothered by having him following her. After the walk she had relaxed a lot and de stressed and was so much more cuddly than at the start.
Waiting for Sonny to catch up
