We decided Nyla would be a good example for little Ezra to follow, so we walked them together today. Ezra ( who is just a baby really) was very interested to see Nyla and bounced in and out to play, which Nyla was very good about, but it did make walking tricky so we decided we would need to keep a little distance between them. With Ezra in the lead he kept looking back to see where Nyla was, but with a little gentle encouragement he kept going. Nyla was a perfect little lady, very tolerant, and good as gold. This little girl is a perfect poppet, and has become so much more confident walking with a variety of dogs.

Nyla walked with Gilly today (from Gilly and Snowy) because we paired Buds up with Snowy as she is such a calming influence for him. Nyla is such a poppet, she is happy to walk with any dog. She does have a stubborn side though and if she is worried about where you are going she will back away so her harness needs to be tight so she doesn’t back out if it. She was very good with the three horses that passed us today. She’s a real favourite with Geoff and me, she has a lovely nature and is such a pretty girl. Can’t understand why she is still waiting to be adopted xxxx

Rosco stepped our with Nyla yesterday, both keen on their walk but Nyla polite enough to let Rosco lead which he was determined to do !!
Nyla needed a bit of encouragement to set off with Ali who she didn’t know but soon settled happily into her walk (sausages helped !!!) and had a lovely time :D

Nyla was encouraged to walk with Gilly today. She does like walking with another dog in the lead, it gives her confidence. Nyla is a very sweet, gentle, slightly nervous girl, and if she is unsure about where you are going she will try to back away, but a little treat in your hand to help her get moving in the right direction works wonders. She is very easy to harness and was very good, as expected, when I wiped her down after our rather muddy walk. Nyla is a sweetheart xxxxx Heart fill with love.gif]

Nyla is fine walking without other dogs. When we first set off, Nyla will try and back up in her harness, and she will do this until you get away from the perimeter of the kennels. I just hold her harness and frogmarch her a bit until we get further away. She might do this three or four times but then she happily walks well. We had a lovely walk alone today, and the further away from kennels we get, the more confident she is. She was happy to walk and sniff and play. Nyla passed all other dogs with no reaction, and when we were on a narrow path, several times with other dogs passing, I say to her "look at me" and as she knows I have treats in my pocket, she will sit and stare up at me, ignoring passing dogs. Such a lovely dog and fun to be with, but as soon as we get back to the kennels and she hears the barking, she just wants to go back to her Kennel mate and shows the stubborn behaviour again. I think when Nyla has her own home and is loved for herself, her confidence will grow. I haven't found her difficult to walk at all. She just needs someone who knows how to handle her and understand her little ways.

I walked beautiful Nyla today with Geoff and Gilly ( from Gilly and Snowy) she is a bit reluctant to leave the Rescue kennels compound, which I think is probably her security, but encouraged with gravy bone biscuits we got to the lane and then she walked beautifully and we all had a lovely walk. Nyla is easy to walk, she didn’t pull at all today, was so good passing other dogs and enjoyed the cuddle we had back in her kennel. Nyla is a very gentle girl. Xxxx angel13.gif]

I took Nyla out on Saturday, easy to put her harness on. She took a bit of encouragement to get out the rescue car park area with some treats but then was fine. Because she was nervous we went over to the paddock but it was being used, so we went for a slow walk just around the area. After some more treats she was great, you'd never even know she was nervous to start with! Lovely girl!

Nyla really enjoyed sharing her walk with Ollie ( little EBT Cross) today. They were firm friends from the start exchanging some very nice nose to nose greetings during the walk. Nyla is such a lovely gentle girl. It would be wonderful if her forever people found her soon. She is people friendly and dog friendly, just a little anxious sometimes with new situations or places, where she will try and back away, but gentle encouragement and a treat will get her moving in the right direction. Today however, Ollie was encouragement enough, and Geoff and I enjoyed a fabulous walk with the pair of them xxxx

Nyla walked with Chris (dog) yesterday and she was beautifully behaved as usual. Her calm friendly approach to other dogs is brilliant so she is often chosen to help socialise our less confident dogs. Yesterday Chris got a little over enthusiastic wanting to say hello and play with her and Nyla calmly took it all in her stride. Such a special girl.
