I have walked Finn a lot recently and I have found him a very affectionate dog who is clearly struggling in a kennel environment. He was very hyper when I first took him out whimpering all the time and pulling in all directions but he has improved a lot since those first walks and I think what he needs is calm handling and regular human contact. I am convinced that with patience and consistent handling Finn will blossom he certainly has lots of love to give.

Terry and myself have walked Finn a few times now. Finn doesn’t need two walkers - we just like to makes his walks extra special - as he’s an extra special boy. Finn can become over stimulated when he sees dogs approaching - and for this reason we have been using a muzzle. Finn is NOT at all aggressive to his humans - he just sometimes gets himself in a bit of a tizz and forgets himself. The muzzle stops all silliness and ensures Finny Finn gets the maximum enjoyment from his walk - we can take him anywhere without issue. As we are no longer concerned about approaching dogs, Finns reaction has definitely lessened. He has an over reaction for 10 seconds, then he’s forgotten all about the other dog and just wants to get on with his walk. He is without doubt one of the most affectionate dogs I’ve ever met. He randomly stops, leans in to me, and just wants to be cuddled and held. Super boy with a real vulnerability about him. Love him to bits. Xx.

When I walk Finn I always take him into the paddock for a run around which he loves. He starts by having a wee in the paddling pool and then roars around the paddock occasionally going through the tunnel on the wooden structure and after a while he will come over to where I am sitting for a cuddle. He will put his front legs on my lap and soak up the attention until it's time for a walk. He really is a wonderfully affectionate dog.

Finns kennel neighbour was giving Finn a good barking at as Terry got him ready - Finn didn’t bat an eyelid - such a good boy. He’s a very, very affectionate boy - he loves his cuddles and I feel he likes the security of human closeness. Off lead in the paddock, he was a joy to watch. He turned in to a bit of a poser - strutting his stuff on the activity steps, keeping still as I took a few pics. Finn is a lovely boy who just needs a little guidance and reassurance passing other dogs. Xx.

Another fantastic walk with Finn on Saturday. He is so affectionate. When you enter the kennel he cuddles in to you and presses himself as close as he can get to you, I think just wanting to feel the warmth of a person against him.
We came across a horse and rider and he had a little quiver, not quite sure what this extra large dog was but with a cuddle he watched it go past and then walked on in the opposite direction - glancing around a few times just to check it wasn't following!
Finn needs a bit more socialisation with other dogs to be more relaxed around them but I am sure that his confidence will continue to grow thumbs.gif

Had a brilliant time with Finn today - he really is such a loving, affectionate boy. He loves his off lead time in the paddock - chasing balls, running up and down the activity steps, just being a goofball really. What I adore about Finn is how cuddly he is - he loves being hugged, stroked and made a fuss off and told what a very good he is. I think Finn lacks confidence in himself - and he takes great comfort from human contact and praise. He was very cheeky today as well - put the brakes on when it was time to leave the paddock - but bribing him with a sausage or two cajoled him along.xx.

Finn made me laugh yesterday as soon as I got his muzzle off in the paddock he raced around the fence at top speed and then started to play with all the deflated footballs scattered around. He is now so intent on playing with the footballs that he goes deaf and I had a fun time trying to catch him. As Pegmilly says he does love human contact and is happy to cuddle for as long as you like.

Finn wears his heart and his worries on his sleeve - I could tell he was out of sorts and a little stressed when I entered his kennel. I only got a short hello cuddle - he was much more focused on getting out. He seemed worried by the barking of one of his kennel neighbours and although he was agitated there was no silliness from Finn. Straight to the paddock so he could have a good stretch of his legs - he zoomed from one end to the other about 10 times - totally ignoring me - which is most unlike Finn. He did calm down though, I filled up a Kong with squeezy cheese which he thoroughly enjoyed, and then came over for some fuss - although he did stick his nose in my pocket and help himself to the sausages in there - cheeky boy!! Xx.

Finn was a stressed boy on Sunday but I done my best to put a smile back on his face. He absolutely loves squeezy cheese so I took that along for our walk. Once in the paddock I let him have some which he took very nicely.....then he got greeeeeedy and tried to take the whole tube!! Cheeky boy. He put so many holes in it, it was impossible to get anymore out without making a mess.....but Finn certainly didn’t mind a bit of mess - he had cheese all over his face and legs - but he very much enjoyed licking it all off. I have a real soft spot for Finn. As I’ve said before he has a vulnerability about him - which is very endearing. Xx.
