Sadly Chief's health deteriorated rapidly over the last few weeks and today the family offered him Peace to free him of any further suffering.

Chief's Story: Taken into care with his daughter Biscuit (D0B 2012), both needing urgent veterinary care and support due to severe neglect. Chief is older than his daughter by three years. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Chief is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. Chief came as an emergency on 25.04.18. He is now in boarding kennels near Gatwick awaiting his new family

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Chief & Biscuit went to the vets yesterday and had steroid injections to stop the scratching; advocate to zap the fleas/ mites and eye drops to ease their sore eyes. They arrived today same size as little Keisha and Tilly diddy Staffies. Anne and Louise took them for their first walk and they were very happily led away into the woods

We did indeed take these little darlings for a short stroll around the woods. They are very small and very sweet and adorable. Biscuit is very wriggly and interested in everything going on. Chief is more of a steady boy who is happy just walking along by your side. These two wonderful characters will only be looking forward now and with the love and health care they will now receive, they will be just fine. We instantly fell in love them as will all the RR volunteers. Here's hoping a new home comes for them very soon.

Geoff and I took Chief and his daughter Biscuit for a walk today. They are reluctant to go to the toilet in their kennel so the girls were keen that they were given a walk. Oh they are gorgeous. They are obviously still showing the severe neglect they have suffered. Chief in particular is very thin and has suffered from mange, but he has the loveliest face and the most beautiful little button eyes. He is really easy to love, to walk, bit tentative taking treats but was persuaded to try a gravy bone. These two are heart stealers. Chief is the one modelling the very dashing green collar and harness, oh and he loved rolling on his back in the paddock!!!

Fiona and I walked Chief and Biscuit today. Such an adorable couple of dogs. They were having their 'special baths' when we were ready to take them out, so after a little wait, when we went to collect them, both were snuggled up together in their bed. They were easy to harness and ready to go for walkies. Both of them are very small and compact, they happily welcomed us into their kennel and after a 'meet and greet', and a couple of sausages both were happy to get on their way for a walk. They walk well together and are very easy on the lead. Another two little staffies that have been neglected but still have faith in us humans. With the love and care they are going to get, they will be a staffie lovers dream, double the love and staffie kisses! Adorable little duo, very chilled and enjoyable walk we all had today. x

We walked Chief & Biscuit yesterday. They were very easy to walk and we had fun watching them roll around on the grass together. I can't wait to see these two improve in the care of RR. Here's Chief, we love his wise old face!

Chief is a lovely gent! Adorable just like his daughter Biscuit. This lovely little duo were sat in their bed together when Fiona and I arrived to take them out. Both were really excited to get harnessed up and on their way! Chief and Biscuit walked beside each other and had a lovely long stroll in the sunshine, occasionally stopping off for a brief roll in the grass. Both are looking really well. A lovely pair of staffies and a delight to take out walking. x

I couldn't agree more - what a lovely pair of staffies. Diane and I walked them through the woodland walk and then sat with them in the hut for a while. They both thrive on affection and cuddles (and liver cake especially made by Diane). Let's hope their forever home comes along soon - they so deserve some happiness in their lives. :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif: :crossfingers.gif:

Geoff walked Chief and Biscuit on Thursday whilst I walked Darcey with them. These two tiny Staffies have come so far since they arrived in Rescue so very neglected. Two plump little bodies now, with shining coats and wagging tails. Two adorable, friendly little muppets, who are going to make one lucky family very happy.

Biscuit and Chief are both looking so much better now. They have both put on weight and their fur is growing. They are getting regular showers with medicated shampoo for their skin and generally getting loved and pampered by all the staff and walkers.
