Forgot to mention ... my mum has a cat so on Christmas day Monty met Honey... not face to face but they were both curious of each other... Monty didn't growl, bark or show any malice although I'm sure he would have liked to chase; on the whole he was great! He had a play fight with my brother and showed nothing but puppy like behaviour toward him.

Monty is a roller and does love to roll in poo... nice!! oops.gif He hates the hose pipe and who can blame him in this weather so when it comes to washing his feet after a walk we have a warm bowl of water at the ready; the things we do!!! xmaskick.gif

This little man loves the snow and munches away on it; he's so funny to watch. He loves running round the garden but never strays too far from your side and if he does his recall is great... such an intelligent little boy.

Here are a few pics of our walk on Boxing Day. Heart fill with love.gif]

In short... Monty is a young boy who is highly intelligent and highly trainable. He has had no issues with the girls... he loves a snuggle and will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a youngster to nurture and grow with. Monty socks is adorable. Monty is a super little dog. Amazingly quick at learning ... will now bring his ball back and drop for you to throw again. He is all for his human and loves the attention he gets.
He can be left (crated) and is a very good boy. He is excellent at going in his crate. Can't stress enough what a wonderful boy he is and what a fantastic dog and friend he will make. A lovely lovely natured boy.
Come on people get form filling don't let Monty come back into kennels. He's coming back on Saturday. It's been an absolute pleasure to have him here. angel13.gif]

Monty's puppy energy and enthusiasm is infectious and he brightened up my day. He is super smart and connected and is therefore a delight to spend time with. We had a lovely walk this morning, Monty behaving brilliantly while a very large group of walkers passed us and also greeting a very friendly English bull terrier girl very politely. love4.gif

I took Monty for a walk this morning with Louise walking with Boots. Initially Monty was excited by Boots but as soon as he was allowed to go in front, Monty settled and walked with a loose lead. Monty did not bother too much what Boots was doing after that, but he did keep observing him, all the time respecting his space. I love sharing a walk with Monty, watching him observe, listen and learn. He thrives on praise.

I had another lovely walk with Monty this morning. He takes a little while to settle down after the hype of the kennels but when he does he walks very calmly with a loose lead and is very tuned in to me. He is a little unsettled passing other dogs at the moment but this is his lack of confidence showing. He tends to bark at passing dogs but this is a lot less if he is with another dog. He walked with Buster on Wednesday and Buster was able to help him with his confidence so we will work on this. He is actually very social able and has demonstrated this, greeting calm, friendly dogs very politely. Anyway, we were happily wandering along the bridle path this morning when we were faced with a fallen tree blocking our path. I thought we could climb through it on the bank of the stream but after clambering over the first branch, Monty got between my legs and gave me 'a look' which said he thought I was mad and he wasn't going any further. So we had to turn back and we had a lovely walk through the woods instead.

So glad Monty is getting out and about. :goodjob.gif:
Monty is such a trainable boy; ok so his meet 'n' greet with other dogs can be a bit exuberant sometimes but that's all it is. The more he is socialised and trained the better he will become and it won't take long... I can't stress enough what a fantastic little dog Monty is and with a bit of time and training put into him he will make a wonderful companion for someone. Below are a few pics of Monty when he stayed with us over the holiday season... what a perfect houseguest he was. We miss you Monty Socks! love4.gif love4.gif

Bless his cottons...
Monty is a young lad and is still learning... if you feel you can nurture his needs and give him the time and love he should have had already then please get form filling don't let this gawjus boy become a statistic and grow up in kennels ... give him a chance to become the dog I know he has the great potential to be.

I look forward to my walks with Monty. He is always pleased to see me and stand nicely while I fit his harness and attached the leads. He was much calmer today, both in the kennel and exiting past the other dogs. He settled immediately we were out and we had a very relaxed and enjoyable walk. love4.gif

Monty had a very positive walk this morning. He settled very quickly, with his walking companion, Timmy Tim, who walked with Louise. Monty likes to be in front so that where we let him be. I could see that he felt very safe and comfortable around Timmy and sometimes during the walk chose to be close to him, sniffing where he sniffed but always with politeness. We let them be close if they wanted as both boys were very relaxed. Mostly Monty chose to be independent and do his own thing but always kept looking back to check where Timmy was and to wait for him if he was lagging behind.
On the way in and out of the kennels through the woods there are 2 very slippery muddy ditches we have to cross. On the way back I was amazed as we reached each one, Monty, without being asked, stopped, looked at me and waited until I had negotiated myself across the ditch before he moved forward. Monty is a very intelligent and emotionally tuned in boy. All he needs is gentle guidance and lots more positive experience with other dogs like he had on our walk this morning. I feel so proud of Monty and very privileged that he wants to be my friend.
