I am so glad you took Monty out. I am especially pleased to hear he is mixing with his pack. This is just what he needed and hopefully will build his confidence.
Now- just to find his forever home.

Monty left his friend Kenny in the kennels on Saturday to join me for a walk in the rain. He was a bit excitable to begin with (not helped by the cat in the kennel car park!) but he settled after a while. He did a good impression of a bloodhound, sniffing around the verges and hedges, and nearly towed me into the bushes when a muntjac deer crossed the path! 0028.gif We paused so he could have a fuss - he sat well for his treats and took them very gently. Hopefully his forever home will come soon. love4.gif

It’s lovely to see little Monty back at Gatwick, though it would be even lovelier to see him heading off to his own home. Monty is a friendly little boy and is obviously enjoying sharing with a kennel mate, Kenny. They were very excited to be going out for a walk yesterday and there was lots of jumping about and vying for attention whilst we were harnessing them. Better perhaps to separate them to harness, it would make the process quicker!! Out on the walk and Monty was so enthusiastic, really enjoying his sniffs, and happy to let Kenny take the lead. Oh how Monty loves the water! We went down to the stream and Monty found the deepest bit to lie down in, he was such a happy pup. He had a little bark at a fluffy white dog that got nose to nose with Kenny and looked like he might be about to do the same with Monty 😁. He pulls a lot in the lead at the moment, but Monty is a fab boy and very receptive to commands.

Monty and his kennel friend Kenny were sooooo excited to be going for a walk.....what a welcome Tony and myself got when we entered their kennel. I’m not sure how long it took to get their harnesses on but I do know we had a full body work out doing it!! Monty has blossomed in to a wonderful young man, a lovely boy to walk. One slight moment of over excitability but it was over in a nano second. He was very connected to me during our walk, listening well and was just a pleasure to walk. Very much look forward to walking Monty again. Xx.

I had a lovely walk with Monty today. We separated him and Kenny to harness them because they get so excited about going for a walk that you end up dancing around the kennel with both of them. Kenny went first so Monty and I joined them in the paddock. It was lovely to watch these two play and run around. They had a lovely 10 minutes and then we went for a really enjoyable walk. The last time I walked Monty he pulled all the way round, today he set a good pace, but didn’t really pull very much at all. Monty is a bit of a cutie, and I’m rather smitten love4.gif

Once settled after the excitement of getting out for a walk, Monty walked happily with his friend Buster and new friend Nyla yesterday.

I think Monty is wishing he had another kennel mate but harnessing him alone is much quicker and easier than when with Kenny 0002.gif]
we had a great walk and Monty passed all other dogs really well which is amazing and shows the progress he has made with unfamiliar dogs. He is a lively walk but if he starts to pull and you stop he looks at you and then walks on with a loose lead - what a good boy thumbs.gif He also likes a cuddle love4.gif
