Re: Monty Staffie x DofB 27.10.16 Gatwick Kenns
Monty had a lovely play with Ammie tonight in the paddock with the fence between he really has regained his confidence with dogs again and just needs more work outside seeing dogs but is beginning to lose the intensity of his reactivity

Monty relaxed more on his walk today. He started his walk with Hugo, who is a steady calm boy and had a calming influence on Monty, and Harvey bringing up the rear who was also calm and steady around Monty. This did the trick and Monty passed both Glynis and Keisha and Tilly on his walk with no fuss at all. Brilliant stuff Monty! We then headed off on our own for a longer walk and Monty was the happy, relaxed boy I have grown to love.

Monty had a lovely relaxed walk this morning. We saw Diana out walking Romeo where Monty had a little bark but quickly settled again. Monty seemed to like the peace and quiet of the woodland walk. He enjoyed sniffing all the new smells and was quite happy just to amble along on a loose lead. We stopped off in the Poets Hut where he enjoyed a cuddle. He also sniffed out the treats in my pocket and asked so nicely to have some. No snatching at all, such a gentle boy. Love him xx

Fun in the paddock this afternoon. This boy loves to run!

A very warm day today so first things first, a dip in the stream.
With continued support on his walks and his socialisation, Monty is beginning to realise that passing other dogs on his walk is really no big deal. Today we first passed Rosie the Lab who was interested in Monty but did not react to him. Monty did his usual growl but was easily persuaded to move on and did so quickly with no fuss at all. Then we passed 2 whippets who were timid and again did not react to Monty. Same scenario, Monty growled but we were able to move on quickly with no fuss.- staffylevi

What fabulous pics of Monty Anne showing his truly wonderful personality. I got very excited for a moment though I'd click on Dogs Rehomed and saw Monty's name... wrong thread!!
Appealing to anyone reading Monty's thread... Don't let this gawjus young man grow up in kennels; he's got so much to give and is the most loving, fun dog with a huge personality. Get form filling if you can offer Monty his forever home. He's not perfect, who is?? But he can be so much more as he is proving every single day he is with RR.
We miss you Monty Socks. Thank you Anne for your continued support to Monty. xxx

Monty and I went for a walk on our own this morning. We passed 2 dog walkers (Monty did his growly dance for the first and didn't take too much notice of the second) horse riders, a cyclist and a jogger. After all that excitement our walk became quieter and Monty settled and enjoyed lots of time following scents and exploring. I did not have a plan so wherever Monty wanted to go, (as long as it was sensible) we went.

What a pleasure it was to take Monty out today. He was so excited to see me when I went in to his kennel, I put the harness on easily and then we were ready for a walk. Being quite new I am still getting used to the walks, but we found the stream and on a hot day, Monty went right in and sat down He was so good on the lead, taking notice as I talked to him as we went round. I was really impressed with the way he jumped over the bars as we crossed the bridge. He made his presence known by barking as we passed other dogs, but this was soon forgotten as we carried on walking.
I tried to take some better pictures, but as I sat down to do this he kept giving me a hug and a kiss which made it a bit difficult. What a smashing dog Monty is, I hope he finds his forever home soon.

Had a lovey long and relaxed walk with Monty yesterday. At one point a small fluffy black dog appeared in front of Monty from out of the undergrowth. The two dogs looked at each other, exchanged polite communication and the little dog scampered off to it's owner. Well done Monty. Monty also passed Missie (who he knows) walking with Stuart without comment but did have a little grumble at Penny. Monty and I very much enjoyed our extended walk and we finished with time in the paddock. While I sit on the steps Monty runs about and every so often he runs to me, squeezes himself underneath my legs, then he is off again.
