Lexie needs a supportive family to offer time and tolerance to allow their new dog to settle. NB Our Rescue asks owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters, as dog law changes place dog's lives at greater risk.

Known background: Lexie was found stray/abandoned & unclaimed within a council pound. We stepped forwards to offer a Rescue place. Lexi is now spayed, chipped and vaccinated. Lexie was in Sidcup in foster with 3 other dogs.

Lexie is a 5 year old red Staffie with prick up ears. Arrived very scared & is now settled thanks to her fosterer building her confidence with young men. Her son has built trust & has no issues with love & learning to meeting others visiting but needs treat sharing on introductions! Good dogs skills & will happily live with other dogs though hasn’t got a lot of confidence if they confront her. Pretty girl who is small with inquisitive ears! Peach

Lexie is lovely. She is feeling a little sore post spay recovery at the moment after going to the vets yesterday but I got the most friendly, gentle welcome in her kennel. She knew exactly what the harness in my hand meant and couldn't get it on quick enough. She walks beautifully on the lead, taking her time to investigate and sniff around. She greeted her friend Bruce politely but was more bothered with getting on with her walk.
Lexie is a sweet affectionate girl who is a pleasure to spend time with and will be a favourite with the walkers.

Lexie Lexie Lexie what a lovely girl. I have been fostering Lexie for three days now and what a delight she has been. She is very dog friendly my Tango is truly smitten!! Lexie is very aware of herself and gets very nervous if she thinks she has done wrong like a little nervous wee on the floor which she has only done twice and I have tried to tell her Leo and Pru my elderly cavaliers do much worse on a daily basis!! But she still felt guilty bless her. Lexie is nervous of men but has made friends with my son and has spent time with him in his bedroom, although today she did get a little spooked and nervous when she realised he was the only human in the house. I think the softly softly approach for Lexie and time and patience for this sensitive girl will benefit her greatly and the rewards of her trust will be the best feeling in the world. I love her already and my Tango has become very protective over her I think he knows she is a sensitive soul xxxx

Lexie met my stepdad John yesterday he came over to fix the washing machine. At first she was nervous and had a little bark but John bent down and spoke to her softly and of course the deal breaker was the treats lol, Lexie took the treat gently and then let John give her a little fuss. He carried on fixing the washing machine and Lexie would every now and then give him a little sniff have a look at me for reassurance decide everything was OK and carry on with her business. I must say Lexie is really coming out of her shell now, you can tell she isn't 100% relaxed but she definitely trust's us all not to hurt her more and more each day. Lexie is such a little sweetheart so well behaved and toilet trained we haven't had any more nervous wee's, not that it would matter if she did. Her and Tango continue with there love affair and love to have a little snuggle xx

Sorry it has been a while since my last update I have been working hard we Lexie helping her to settle in and help her with her problems. I bought Lexie a anxiety collar to help with her stress the first few weeks she seemed to be scared of most things but with a lot of tlc and Tango showing her the ropes she has certainly blossomed into a different girl, she even looks different a lot lot younger in her face. Lexie is a very special girl full of character and so very well behaved around the house, especially when we go out she isn't destructive at all. Lexie is now used to Jay and is his friend all of the time even if I'm out she has also meet my eldest son twice but is still unsure of him she will sit in the same room and settle down but still won't go to near. The same with my kids dad she meet him on Boxing Day and he is a doggy person she went to him for treats and strokes but when he got up out of his chair she would start barking at him, I'm sure after a little bit of time he could win her over. Lexie didn't really know how to play with Tango and didn't want to share her toys but Tango has helped her in both areas and as usual he loves a game of tug and now Lexie does too. Lexie meets other dogs at the park and her recall is very good when on the long line. Lexie gets on with my 2 caverliers she wanted to play with Pru at first but Pru told her off and Lexie ran away...bless her, now she doesn't bother Pru at all. Lexie responds well to a clicker and is very easy to train I think once you earn Lexie trust she is a loyal friend forever,Lexie also loves to cuddle up and give you lots of kisses. She is a very special girl I love her to bits xxx Kiss of love.gif

I am so proud of Lexie she grows in confidence every day, when we go for a walk now her tail is up and wagging and she loves to sniff and explore. Although she doesn't like heavy rain it seems to scare her she pulled me like a steam train home the other day, but then again she is a beautiful girl she obviously didn't want to get her hair wet haha!! Here is a short video of Lexie yesterday at the park x
