Home visit

Post by Grandadmick » Thu Jul 12, 2018 4:20 pm

My wife and I are interested in offering a forever home to one of the listed Staffs, our main concern is that we have given a home to a cat in the last 11 months and are concerned the cat might object to even a tolerant dog. Is it possible to have a home visit with a dog of our choice to see if this would work? We lost our last Staff Tia, who was also a rescue, after 11 wonderful years, we also had a mother and daughter, Bo & Elsa for a total of 14 years before that. We do really miss having a friend around and would love to fill the gap, can you help?

The list of our dogs that have been cat checked is here: viewforum.php?f=177

On some occasions we do allow trial homings to families with cats. This is provided that the family is willing to work hard and really take the time to properly introduce the dog and cat and achieve cohabitation where both cat and dog are safe. It would be advisable that the family should have a plan in place that would include escape routes and safe places for the cat too - especially if the cat has not lived with a dog before.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please fill in our Homing Questionnaire. A homing volunteer will get back to you to discuss your circumstances and whether you are a match for any of our dogs. https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/ ... tionnaire/
