Current Status: Homed Stirling's Story: Stirling was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Surrey council pound. Stirling was handed in to us by the dog warden having been found stray in an emaciated condition. Our vet checked him over and said he was acutely affected by malnutrition and should make a good recovery. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Stirling will be neutered by his receiving family at around the year old mark. He is chipped, and vaccinations are in progress. Stirling was in boarding kennels near Gatwick and then briefly in foster with another dog Bertha whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Stirling's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Stirling has certainly made an impact and is gaining a fan club. He has evoked emotions from upset and tears at his condition, to complete love and devotion from all who meet him. Yes, he is thin and undernourished and struggling on his back legs, which are weak due to him being malnourished, but he has such an engaging, lovely temperament, he is cute and sweet as only a puppy can be and everyone is rejoicing that he is now safe with us and his life can only get better. Stirling will now get all the nourishment and love he has been missing to make him strong again. He will be a very handsome boy when he is fully grown. Now, to getting him into a lovely forever home...….

Stirling is the dearest sweetest little poppet of a doglet. Fingers crossed that a warm loving home full of food comes his way very soon. love4.gif love4.gif love4.gif

Everyone who met this lovely boy on Sunday fell in love with him. His past has certainly not impacted his fantastic nature. He loves people, all people, happy to be held, cuddled, kissed by anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He had a few short walks through out the day and although he doesn’t have hardly any muscle tone in his back legs, he certainly didn’t let this hinder him. I cut short our walk, not this resilient little chap, he was happy to keep going, but his back paw was dragging beneath him so I took him back. His past is behind him now, he’s not letting it hold him back, I see that as a great triumph over who ever did this to him. Onwards and upwards for this dear young boy. Xx.

Ohh, I am so pleased this little fella is walking. I have been thinking about him a lot since I saw his first post. Dear, brave little boy. love4.gif

Stirling is a lovely natured little boy but is still very unsteady on his feet as he needs to build up and gain control of his legs. He is enjoying his food and lots of cuddles love4.gif

Stirling has been staying with Ros and family but she brought him back to kennels this morning to meet a special family Victoria, Derek and their children Liam, Keara and Olivia plus Little Luna their dog. Ros will share all thumbs.gif
