Rocket's Story: Rocket was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a North London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Rocket is now neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Rocket was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family.
If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.
Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.
Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.
Rocket's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.

Re: Rocket Lurcher DofB TBAss Guildford Kenns
Had a lovely walk with Rocket today. He was interested but respectful of his little kennel mate Basil and they trotted along the river very nicely together. Out and about, excited dogs seemed to worry Rocket a bit and he was barky but there was no aggression there. He walked calmly passed all his kennel mates in the run. He's a beautiful, gentle boy. Hopefully not with us for long!
Re: Rocket Lurcher DofB ?2013 Gatwick Kenns
Rocket was perfectly behaved on our walk - couldn’t have asked for a better boy to help Buds (staffie) with his social skills. Not once did he react to buds 5 minutes of silliness - just stayed calm and took it all in his stride. His gentle nature and dog skills helped Buds to settle and soon Buds was totally indifferent to Rocket being there. Rocket is a calm, gentle boy - cannot fault him at all. Xx.
Re: Rocket Lurcher DofB ?2013 Broxbourne Kenns
Rocket is doing well - I walked him for the first time on Saturday and what a lovely boy he is He walks nicely on the lead without pulling and takes his treats very gently. He had a little bark at the first dog we met but walked quietly past the next one. He was very interested in the squirrels and muntjac that we came across so probably isn't for small furries!
Re: Rocket Lurcher DofB ?2013 Broxbourne Kenns
Rocket has been out with a few different walkers over the Christmas period. He's a popular boy as he's a pleasure to take out! I hope he finds a home of his own very soon.

This is a delayed post but i took Rocket out a few days ago. He was a lovely walk, on a loose lead the whole time, even when he saw squirrels he was interested in. Very calm until he saw a couple of dogs which he barked at. It seemed more of a nervous bark though. A very sweet guy on the whole.

Rocket has helped with induction walks for 2 new walkers over the last couple of weekends.
He’s ideal as he’s very easy to walk and even when he gets excited by dogs that he’s like to play with or by squirrels in the woods, he’s easy to control.
On Sunday new walker Lucy wanted to try a run with him and he jogged alongside her happily without pulling.
He’s such a gentle boy – just needs a sofa of his own!
