Bleu is such a gentle boy. He was very patient and kind today walking with little Ruby pup. Ruby was nervous and not too keen on going for a walk until she saw Bleu in front and then she wanted to go and say hello and follow him and proceeded to sniff everywhere that Hugh left his mark. Bleu was so calm and patient with her bouncing and keenness, although he did give her a little warning huff (which you can see in the video) near the end of the walk when she was really trying his patience. To her credit she left him pretty much alone after that.

Adding another fan to the Bleu club. What a great big gentle teddy bear of a dog! Lovely lovely lovely. love4.gif Easy to get out of the kennels - he ignored the other dogs that were barking at him. We set off on a walk but the Akita stubbornness came out in that he didn't want to go the way I was going. So I did an about turn and set off in the other direction up the lane. The stubbornness manifested itself by stopping dead and giving me the look with his gorgeous eyes of "If you don't mind, I'd really rather not go this way". This was fine until we got to the road when the stubbornness came out again. 0002.gif] As Bleu wasn't impressed with my choices of walks, we went to the paddock where we sat and had a chat about this'n'that, whilst I stroked and rubbed his back and ears. We had a kick about with a couple of footballs but Bleu was just as happy sitting being stroked. He's very calm and is very calming.

Bleu has made a firm friend with Saturday walker Katie. He is such a friendly boy with a loved chilled vibe about him.

Bleu surprised me on Wednesday with a longer and more playful walk than expected! On our first walk last week, he was reluctant to go much further than a quick dip in the river. But this time, not only was he keen to take a few dips in the river, he also gave me some play bows, showed me that he likes a little jog, and was keen to explore parts that even I hadn’t been to before. We had an offlead JRT run boldly up to say hello, and Bleu calmly said a quick hello and then moved on. Oh, and for a giant doggo, he is remarkably easy on the lead!

It was a beautiful day, so who can blame him for wanting to frolick? But I also learned that Bleu just needed to get to know me a little better to let his hair down. We had a lot of fun on our Wednesday walk love4.gif

Exciting walk with Bleu today, what a gorgeous fluff ball he is.As soon as we got to a deep part of the river he decided to launch himself into the water like a torpedo. I was glad I had a stretchy long lead. He swam up and down delighted with himself. He spent the rest of the walk in and out of the water. When I tried to steer him towards some spots that I thought might be easier for him, he gave me one of his disapproving looks but did eventually consent to come with me. As others have said, he is easy to walk, gentle and friendly with other dogs, I just put my hand on his collar when we met the first off lead dog and he ignored it. Lovely striking boy he is. love4.gif

Walked the beautiful Bleu for the first time today. An absolute bear of a dog. He was quite an easy walk, just lumbers along, sniffing and weeing at regular intervals! He sits nicely when asked, but he also has a stubborn streak - decided at one point that he didn’t want to go the way I was headed so just stopped and looked at me as if to say, nope! He was interested in passing dogs, and squirrels, but other than giving out a little whine, was largely nonplussed! A wonderful, gentle giant.

Lovely walk with Blue today where all his doggy skills were tested. He started by giving me a very disapproving look when I suggested a particular path AWAY from his favourite river. Blue definitely knows his own mind, not that he ever does more than the look and then plants his feet firmly in the preferred direction. We then met a large group of young adults with special needs, several of them wanted to pat him and as he looked so calm, I let them go ahead and he was so good with them. He was rewarded with being allowed as many swims as he liked, which ended up about 5 swims, he was on a long line, which worked really well as he really does like to properly swim if he can get to deep enough water. Then he met a yappy small dog and he just walked by my side with my hand on his collar and was once again so good. On the way home he made friends with a lovely family who thought he was beautiful and he was very friendly towards the children in the group. I notice when walking with Blue, just like Loki, you get so many admiring comments from passers by, he does seem to lap this up. love4.gif

Met the beautiful Bleu today and took him for a walk around the canals, where he enjoyed splashing around in the puddles! Although it was pouring with rain he was on his best behaviour and proved to be a very cuddly, gentle giant who definitely put a smile on my face.
