Sundance's Story: Sundance was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a North London council pound, Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Sundance is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Sundance was in boarding kennels near Guildford whilst awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Watch out everyone, there is a tiger on the block! It is however a very friendly, soppy tiger in the form of our wonderful new boy, Sundance. Sundance greeted me with friendly licks and cuddles and wriggles. He did seem a bit confused by the harness and leads but was happy for me to get him ready. He did look confused again at the leads once out but soon forgot about them as there were so many new smells to investigate. Sundance ambled along, taking his time to do lots of sniffing and munch on grass. Such a friendly, easy boy. WOWSER - he is going to be popular with the volunteer walkers and I am sure his new home won't be too long in coming.

As I was at Gatwick to see Yogi, I asked Lynne if I could see Sundance and take him for a little walk. He's even more gorgeous in the flesh than the pictures can do justice. Were it not for the fact that I wouldn't be able to do fostering any more I would have adopted him on the spot! We had a lovely little walk (apparently his second of the day) and he gave me a cuddle in the Poets Hut, we would have stayed longer but we were sharing the inside with a large hornet. It took a lot of willpower to put him back in his kennel rather than slip him into the crate in the back of the car!

Sundance had a date with Tia today. The two dogs got on wonderfully, so we let them walk together and socialise. After a couple of sniffs, Sundance was not that interested in Tia as he was so busy checking out all the smells along the way. Tia wanted to be by his side and enjoyed having a canine companion to walk with, Sundance just took it all in his stride. Occasionally we saw the young puppy side of Sundance when he got a little excited and jumped around with joy but he was easy to distract and calm and he soon chilled out and carried on with his walk.

We had the absolute pleasure of having sundance for a few days over the weekend. Apart from being a handsome chap he is also a real character.

He is still very playful in a puppy way and took a fancy to several teddies chasing them round and wanting us to play. He is a big boy so needs a good long walk to use up some of that energy as he did get a bit boisterous but calmed down after some excercise.

He was really good with the girls 7 & 8 and they really enjoyed his company and he walked really well on the lead but i sure would have loved to play with the off lead dogs who passed by.

He took a real shine to the trampoline and every time we opened the door ran down to jump on it which really made us all laugh.

Sundance is a lovely dog who would be a fab addition to an active family who could give him lots of love and exercise.

I will add some of the pictures when I am next at the computer because he really is a stunner!

We were fortunate to be able to spend a couple of days with the gorgeous Sundance again. We started off with some blackberry picking, he helped us hunt out the best ones as well as taking us for a walk. He tried to chew his leads a bit when I put them on but once we got going he was great and didn't pull at all just went alongside me taking time to sniff out all of the new exciting smells.

As before he did take rather a fancy to the girls teddies and repeatedly went to go and find one to get us to play. We put them all out of reach and then he was fine, he also let us take them back when he did have them which was good and I am sure with a bit of training and patience once the excitement was over he would stop doing this.

We went for a wander around the national trust woods at Ightham Mote which he really enjoyed where it was a bit cooler and there was lots to see. Again he walked perfectly on the lead and was happy to stop every so often as we stopped to eat or look at the wildlife.

Over the couple of days he was once again great with the family, loved having his belly and head stroked and enjoyed a treat. He even sat quiet comfortably on the girls laps on the sofa and nodded off a couple of times. I am sure once he is settled in a family he will be a super addition as he is such fun to have around, but until then we love having the opportunity to spend some time with him.

I made a beeline for Sundance today as it’s been a few days since our last walk. As always I got an enthusiastic greeting and a big kiss :)

Once the leads were on and we started to walk he did turn his head to chew them a bit but I managed to distract him and once we got going he walked perfectly.

We stopped for a bit on the stream where he enjoyed jumping in and out as he is very strong I thought I might end up having a dip.

As we walked round we passed a couple of dogs who I am sure he would have liked to play with and a bike but he behaved very well each time.

At the end we sat down in the shade where he enjoyed some treats, a belly rub and lots of cuddles.

Sundance is a smashing dog and will make such a lovely addition to a family.

We spent some time with sundance away from the kennels and as always he charmed us with his lovely personality.

He is still a young dog and being a boxer x is very bouncy and doesn’t always know his own strength. Being out of the kennels is very exciting and you have to give him some time to calm down.

He still loves the girls teddies and as soon as you take one he finds another in places you never knew there was one :) however he will let you take them off him.

We left him alone for an hour this time and he was fine, happy to see us when we got back but had not been up to mischief.

He walks brilliantly on the lead, has a sniff with other dogs but no fuss. He also walked past some horses and only gave them a passing glance.

He was good with household noises, wasn’t fazed by the hoover or the lawnmower just interested.

He particular enjoyed jumping around in the sprinkler and getting wet as well as obligatory bounce on the trampoline which he races for when he gets in the garden.

Sundance has a wonderful temperament, loves a cuddle and belly rub and snores gently away when he is asleep. The family that gives him a home will be very lucky, we all love him!
