Sweet Smiley, bless her she's a little overwhelmed finding herself in kennels - but she's gaining confidence all the time and enjoying attention which is lovely to see love4.gif

Smiley is understandably a little nervous but we are good friends now and we enjoyed a lovely shady walk this morning. Smiley walks beautifully on the lead, just ambling along taking her time to sniff and investigate all the smells along the way. She is very endearing and the more time you spend with her, the more she relates and gives back. What a smashing girl. love4.gif

Walking with Smiley this week

As you can see she walks beautifully on the lead, no pulling, just ambling along by your side, taking her time to sniff all the interesting smells.

Took Smiley out this morning, very polite on meeting. Good out on the lead, no pulling. Caught the eye of a few walkers who stopped to say hi and give her a pat. She was comfortable around their Visla, not bothered at all.

Lynne introduced me to Smiley today. What a gorgeous girl she is. A little nervous hence the introduction in her kennel, but Smiley was happy to make friends and join me for a walk. Smiley lives up to her name and smiles at you when she is happy, which I have to say melts your heart! We enjoyed a lovely walk together. It was really hot today so we kept in the shade as much as possible and Smiley was happy just to amble along. Smiley loves a fuss being made of her and was happy to greet other walkers nicely when we were out. Passing other dogs didn't cause a problem. Lovely, lovely girl love4.gif xx

Smiley is over at Guildford and finding her paws well. She has been understandably a little nervous with the changes around her but today she allowed me to become her friend.

We sat in her kennel and she took treats, lots of treats (but healthy home made dehydrated liver) and eventually sat on me and let me give her ears a rub and scratch an itch on her back. She loves to lean in to you and is always checking you're there. Don't worry little one, you'll never be left behind as you are gorgeous in everyway love4.gif

We fitted a Julius harness as they are great and she likes the ease of getting it on/off and away we went into the big new world we have here. Smiley started the walk with her tail low behind her but finished holding it high and proud. She loved the water, rolled in lots of grass, met a few well mannered dogs and adoring families and their children.

Smiley kept looking and leaning in to me throughout and loved it when we stopped and I gave her a 'what do good girls get?' followed by a hug. Such a loving girl.

From starting the day quite apprehensive of me to ending it following my instruction and getting cuddles shows the determination of this girl to throw off any baggage from her past life and make a new start. Just imagine how much more she can give in her forever home.

Smiley went home with Robyn and Philip today. She's still young with lots to learn but Smiley has the most fantastic nature and she won them over completely in the five minutes I left them alone to get Buddy her walking partner. Robyn will mainly be at home with Smiley so she'll have all the human company she craves from someone who really believes in her love4.gif

She is very special and she will soon gain confidence being out and about and enjoying life. Thank you
