Ivor's Story: Ivor was found stray/abandoned as a pup, and was homed by another rescue for one year, but then grew 'too big' for his family and was returned to his original rescue. Rescue Remedies offered Ivor a Rescue place. Ivor is now neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Ivor was in Boarding Kennels near Guildford awaiting his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Ivor's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
13.05.18: As promised the list. Some of the many lurchers we have taken in plus others. "Ivor came in as a pup and we homed him, he recently came back through no fault of his own but the wife and child simply wanted a small lap dog and it was fine when he was a pup but obviously he grew!!! Ivor has mixed with all dogs but he lacks manners, good with people and just needs training. He is around a year old now." Lianne xx West Wales Poundies

Ivor is a complete joy. He is young, friendly, bouncy and adorable. He will be such a popular boy with all the volunteer walkers. We headed to the paddock first for playtime with Bazz and then had a lovely calm walk through the woods. Ivor certainly charmed me.

I walked Ivor for the first time this afternoon, Ivor is very friendly and was pleased to be going out for a walk. He walks at a good pace without pulling. He is very well behaved for such a young dog. When we got back to the kennels Ivor enjoyed his sausage treats. love4.gif

From Georgia:
Had the pleasure of having handsome Ivor stay the weekend with me. He is an extremely loving boy who absolutely loves a cuddle. He still has puppy tendencies which would need a bit of time but is very responsive to voice commands. He is amazing on the lead and doesn't seem to be phased by the other dogs we came across. He's a big bundle of joy with so much character and had us laughing non-stop the whole time he was with us

Had a lovely long walk with Ivor today. He's very easy on the lead and well behaved around other dogs. He's young but learning quickly, he's voice responsive and will do anything for a treat. He's such a smasher and will really thrive in an active family home.

Here's an extremely short and sweet tongue-in-cheek video of handsome Ivor doing some agility style jumping over an obstacle recently with volunteer Mel thumbs.gif He wasn't even trained to do this! He did very well being fostered recently for a weekend (see end photo). He's waiting for a home!

I was so pleased to be able to walk Ivor again today, he is such a good natured young boy. He walked very well for me on the lead and is super responsive to his name so easy to manage and follows commands very well. Ivor has a spring in his step and a few times today he want to run and do zoomies- not surprising for a young dog. He is keen to please and you can tell he wants to be a good boy for his walker so it's difficult not to fall in love with this special boy love4.gif
