Spent some time with Poncho yesterday. He was very good. We had a nice sit down by the river and he squashed up against me, he is a very affectionate boy once away from the noise at the kennels. He didn’t mind the rain and enjoyed being dried off afterwards. He hardly pulled at all today when walking, just a bit at the beginning and I love the way he stops and looks back at you for reassurance.

I took Poncho for a longer walk today and it’s amazing how he chills out after about half an hour of walking. He was strong on the lead at the beginning but once we got into the woods he was really good. He dealt really well with a persistent off lead spaniel that kept running up and trying to sniff his rear end, and he really listened to me and didn’t react. When we got back I took him to the car for more treats and he really wanted to get in, he so wants to go home with someone
He did enjoy his walk though and a little relax sitting on a bench having some attention.

Once we got out walking today Poncho was very relaxed. He enjoyed several paddles to cool himself down as he does get quite hot. There were several other dogs in the park, none very close, he just looked at them and carried on what he was doing. He was listening well today and walked slowly down some steps instead of rushing like he has done in the past. When ever he sees anyone in a car, he really wants to go over and have a look, and to see if he can squeeze himself into the back.

Poncho was very chilled today again which is so nice to see. we set off for our walk and I tried a new route that was on the map but clearly hasn’t been used as a path for some time. The grass and weeds were up to my head. Poncho was so good, he just followed on and enjoyed a couple of nice rolls whilst I picked bits of burrs off us both. We returned by the river and he helped me get some extra treats out of the car because he had been so good. He really wanted to get into the car but settled for some treats instead.

I managed to get down the kennels late Friday afternoon and it was nice and quiet, I went to Poncho's kennel and he was 'aww hellllo' ... we went to the paddock and Poncho had a bit of a sniff around, but the main item was to spend time with the human. Poncho is such a young softie in adult size ambull.. he knew I was going to sit down, so he sat down ready for me
I sat next to him, he then moved across to sit on my lap. Admittedly Poncho is not small, but he is not too heavy, so I had Poncho on my lap giving him cuddles and he just sat on top making sure he could fit, we sat for a while like this We then had a mooch around the paddock; Poncho walking to heal most of the time and then other times his goofballness kicking in with him falling flat in front of me for belly tickles. Admittedly sit .... stay ..... and then you walking away is a bit hard if you go too far, but the speed and enthusiasm he comes to you shows how much he likes being called back. Back in the kennel he got his usual treats. I found I was walking him again the next day and we walked to Losley with Lola (walked by Mandy) going to the lake he was bit eager, but not overly pulley, but the way back he was so chilled loose lead and relaxed, it was lovely to see. Poncho gave me a very enthusiastic greeting today and was full of beans but soon settled out of kennels and we had a nice walk along the river. He ignored the cows and enjoyed a paddle. We had a nice sit and sunbath and several really good rolls then he tried to climb on my lap. He was listening well and was really responsive when walking. He’s such a sweetheart, I always feel sad leaving him.

Poncho and I had a lovely walk and run today apart from just after he really enjoyed his paddle, we set off jogging and I managed to fall over a root into the mud. Poncho was so sweet, he came and gave me a lick and then decided to sit in the mud next to me. He is such a loving dog.
The rest of the walk was fortunately less eventful and I must have found the only patch of mud available to fall down in.
It was warm again and Poncho still really enjoys goofing about in the water.

Poncho and I started with a little run along the river today. He set off very purposefully, I think he enjoys stretching his legs and he is always much less strong on the lead afterwards. We walked the second half of our route and Ponch enjoyed submerging himself in the water. At one point he spotted a Labrador he liked the look of and was desperate to catch him up but he was easy to distract as he is so willing to please and to listen so it was not a problem. Poncho has such an expressive face and you can see when he is happy and relaxed, which he seems to be more often at the moment. He has also put on a little weight as well which I think suits him. We had a nice sit down on the grass when he got back and he climbed on my lap and wouldn’t budge.

Poncho was a very good boy today. Apart from jumping up once, he even sat nicely in his bed whilst I put his harness on. We had a nice jog and a walk and he enjoyed his usual dip in the water and a nice shake afterwards. We didn’t meet any close up dogs today. He was his usual cuddly self and tried to squash all of his soaking self onto my lap when we stopped.
