Yes John collected her from the pound today and delivered her into our vets. Skye was neutered in season so we are keeping a close eye on her, she was already chipped but received her 1st vaccination. She is a tall slender lady pure white with one brown and one blue eye. She was very easy meeting dogs thru their kennel doors and across the crates in the dog mobile. All wrapped up warm tonight.

I met beautiful Skye today - she was so happy to see me and I was showered with kisses and cuddles once in the kennel. This continued during various stages of harnessing, she really just wanted lots of attention before heading off! We eventually got out on our walk in the sunshine. :smiley-chores002.gif:

As she is deaf, she likes to walk close to you and loves to sniff everywhere, making cute snorting sounds! So she does like to take her time on her walks and is always looking around at everything that's happening. Sometimes she needs you to show you the way and regularly looks back for reassurance. She jumped up for hugs and kisses throughout the walk and enjoyed quite a few treats, bless her heart love4.gif
Hopefully she'll be on her way to a nice warm home of her own soon, she really is a very sweet and special girl x

And is partial to the odd treat!

This was my second walk with Skye she is a sweetie. Very pleased to meet you and bounces to greet you in so doing she may occasionally give you a bump it is pure affection , no mouthing. Enjoys a cuddle and petting. An enthusiastic walker keen on what's going on around her. I assume she lip reads ? she is very reactive and affectionate when you talk to her. We have walked the last couple of weeks with Leonie they get on really well and walk side by side. Today we met two labs initially off leads one made several forays towards us before reacting to commands and being put on a lead. Skye and Leonie were perfect had a look but no adverse reaction and behaved impeccably. When passing didn't bother to look at the other dogs. She loves a fuss and cuddle. Steve A

What a lovely furry friend ! I gave treats to Skye yesterday and when I used my squeaky high voice
she certainly seemed to hear me, her tail wagging furiously , possibly can only hear very high pitches??

Very happy to meet Skye again today. She also was happy as she endlessly demonstrated when I entered her kennel.
She has her own way to connect with you, Skye looks at you straight In the eyes and engage a kind of silent conversation which makes her very special.

Treat by any chance?

Shaking the water off of her.

Checking on you.

First time walking Skye this morning. She was very excitable in her kennel but quite gentle once we got going. She was all over the place and jumped up at me a lot, but I soon realised this is only for cuddles and isn't mouthy at all. She soon settled and we did have a lot of success with me getting her attention then holding up a finger until she sat, then rewarding with treats. She picked this up very quickly. She also responded to me holding up a palm to stop her jumping up at me and we did these two things the whole walk. That's about my extent of teaching a deaf dog and don't know if it's correct but she learnt very quickly. Skye is very enthusiastic about meeting people and dogs on her walk, so very friendly if a bit exuberant! One thing I noticed is her fascination with cars. She leaned towards every one that passed us. Must be strange if you can't hear them. She really is a lovely girl and although she jumps around a bit, I didn't find her grabby, she is very gentle.
