Walked the lovely Vinnie chops today, I do have a few nicknames for him - Vincenzo, Vicente (not sure why), Sherman (as in tank) and the black pudding cos he`s a bit rotund and cuddly!
He had quite a long walk today with kennel buddy Luke (and Jo) and it was very hot so carrying his two balls was quite hard work so we had to have quite a few rest stops and plenty of water. He walks so well, just bumbles along happily occasionally stopping to re-adjust his hold on his balls or rushing to pick them up if he drops them. sign_omg.gif Vinnie has been waiting for a home for over two years now, it makes me sad when I look at his early pictures and then look at him now and see his grey hairs appearing on his face. I am sure he wouldn`t ask for much in a home just as long as he has got some tennis balls, food and cuddles. :crossfingers.gif:

This handsome little bear is in desperate need of his forever home. I was lucky enough to have a whole day with him on Monday, and it was such a lovely day.

We went on a long walk in the forest where we came across a lot of strange dogs. One snuck up before we realised and Vinnie watched patiently as the other doggie sniffed at the tennis balls that Vinnie had left on the floor. He didn’t even respond - such a good boy who has made so much progress !

When bikes or young children came past he would instinctively stand still at the edge of the path to let them pass him - so smart ☺️

He then came back to the flat, somewhere he had never been before. He sniffed around a bit but was not too overwhelmed. He behaved wonderfully when I put him in the bath for a little shower, and patiently waited while I washed and towel dried him!

We then had some cuddles on the bed, only after he was invited up. His tail didn’t stop wagging the whole time!

He was so sad to go back to the kennels, and cried when we left him.

Please someone adopt Vinnie soon so that he never has to cry again!! He’s such a lovable squish who really will brighten up your whole life ❤️

As I walked past Vinnie's kennel earlier I couldn't resist but to go in and give him some cuddles. Its time for Vinnie's home now, he's a really great boy with a squishy face and here's a poem I made about him 😁 :

Sir Vinnie the Great is a furry plump pudding
Like a roly poly he is so very sweet
He yearns for a nice cozy home
A person much like YOU he'd love to meet!

Give him a go, he'll love you so,
He's a softie - can squeeze him like dough,
Ask him to be yours, he won't say no!

Vinnie is another long term resident who needs a home, why he is still here is a mystery???
Today on our walk we had a rest stop in the shade and I sat down on a log, I did not notice the log was rotten underneath and it gave way and I tumbled onto the ground, Vinnie was so good, he came over to me all waggy tailed and excited, he must have wondered what the silly human was up to! Good boy squishy chops. love4.gif

Vinnie has just celebrated another birthday in kennels, and his birthday wish is to find a family!

He’s currently on a little foster break with me, and you could not wish for a more intelligent, handsome, and funny little boy. He’s been so well behaved and has settled really quickly into the home, giving us loads of squishy cuddles and kisses!

Although he’s known as Mr. Two Balls, we’ve seen that once he is comfortable and relaxed he is happy to walk without his tennis balls! He’s been for forest adventures, pub lunches, and even brunch!

He’s come a really long way in his dog socialisation - he has met lots of off lead dogs, and he was a perfect boy having lots of gentle nose touches and other doggy greetings! He’s just a bit wary still, and had a nasty surprise when another dog ran up and put his whole head up poor Vinnies behind! But after a little bark and grumble he quickly regained confidence and composure.

Please please please get your forms in for Vinnie! He’s been waiting far too long, and his years are passing him by in kennels [cry.gif]

So today is my last day of being Vinnie's foster mummy (for now), so I thought I'd write everyone a little update on how he has been in the home.

Obviously, I'm absolutely in love with this little man. A weekend foster turned into a whole week as I just couldn't bare to let him go!

He's been perfect in our little flat, and lets us know when he needs to go outside. He has been sleeping in his own bed on our bedroom floor, and as soon as my alarm goes off and he sees that I'm awake, he hops into the bed for a cuddle and a snooze. While he is a little bit older and does enjoy his quiet time, snoozing on the sofa / bed / floor / anywhere, he still has a lot of youth in him, and loves playing catch and running around. He even went for zoomies one evening blob6.gif]

He does the funniest things that will keep you entertained all day. Instead of getting up to turn around, he will just sit down and swivel on his bottom. It's hilarious to watch and he looks so pleased with himself while he spins. He's great with food and toys, not greedy at all and I have been able to take high value items from him if I just bribe him with a cocktail sausage!!

Walking Vinnie will make you feel like a local celebrity! I haven't managed a single walk without being stopped by someone to ask about him - he's just that handsome! People love seeing him out and about, especially with his two tennis balls! He's very very good with strangers, and will happily stand while he's being fussed over, or sit down if I have stopped for a natter. He's also getting much better with other dogs, and has met a few dogs during his time with me, usually by accident! There has been lots of nose touches and sniffs, and he seems to be growing in his confidence. Getting him out on walks is super easy, he doesn't get too over excited and will just pop his head through the harness, and wait patiently until his leads are on before he trots off to the front door.

Please please PLEASE get your forms in for Vinnie, and he will reward you with his unconditional love, and lots of squidgy cuddles.

Here's some pictures of Vinnie earlier, he was cheerful as always and happy to get some cuddles and attention. Thank you to volunteer Lexi who helped with the photos and who just fostered Vinnie.
