Frankie's Story: Frankie was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a council pound. We offered a Rescue place, saving his life. Frankie came to us as a youngster in 2015, full of beans. He is all grown up now and has matured into a fabulous dog who is more than ready for his forever home. He can be a goofy comedian - he does make us laugh! Frankie is brilliant with other dogs and could live with another. Frankie needs a family that will offer him a stimulating home, that will be aware of his exuberance for life, and that will help him to control his energy. Frankie needs support when meeting new people. Once he trusts, he is a friend for life! Frankie is not for small furries. Frankie is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Frankie was in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst he awaits his new family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Frankie accompanied me to the vets yesterday and is now chipped, neutered and 1st vax'd. Very affectionate and clingy in new settings. His ears seem to have sorted themselves out as I didn't recognise him initially. Frankie is a scared little boy who needs more exposure to life. Confident within the pack ..an adolescent finding his 4 paws.

Frankie's homing didn't work out, but I am thrilled to have the chance of fostering this lovely lad. Ever since I saw his first photos when he had wonky ears I've been quite smitten by him......and I'm not disappointed.

He met Mitzy at the kennels very nicely, with a muzzle lick and quickly got out of her way when she gave him a couple of low growls. Just Mitzy's way of testing the boundaries and pleased to say she is still the boss.

He travelled well in the car, and I collected Jess and Sophie (12 and 10 years old) from their grand-parents on the way home. Frankie was pleased to see them and gave them both a hug and travelled home on their laps.

Sam got to meet him in the garden and when he did his usual bluff of barking in his face, Frankie came back to me for reassurance......then a strange thing happened.....

......within 5 minutes they were charging around the garden playing chase. NEVER seen Sam accept a dog so quickly! I think he sensed that Frankie was friendly but fairly calm and gave him a big play bow to invite him to play! Think they'll be having great fun. Got to work on Frankie's stamina though, he was crashed out on the kitchen floor after 5 mins playing.

I took him for a 50 min walk and very impressed. Hardly pulled at all in the harness, nice easy walk. regularly looked back to me for reassurance and recall is excellent. We passed 3 rabbits by the fence and he didn't react at all as they ran off. Will be interesting to see what he makes of cats.

Currently asleep on the sofa next to me, a sweet cuddly boy.

Only 'issue' I can see so far is that he is prone to jumping up, but not unusual for a friendly 1 year old boy and I think easy to discourage.

Frankie is certainly a looker....bit of a 'guess the breed' crossbreed, I can see perhaps GSD in his coat
