Perry's Story : Perry was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a North London council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. People reported that they knew about a dog, and had been feeding it, as he was not well looked after. Perry's owner never came forward to claim him. Perry looks blind in one eye due to a cataract. Perry had a full vet check when Perry was neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Perry is now in foster in Isleworth whilst he awaits his forever home.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

I had the pleasure of meeting Perry today. He was very nervous in his kennel so I sat and waited while he sniffed me and we had a chat and got to know each other a bit before Perry was brave enough to let me put a harness on. Once out Perry was understandably wary and watchful but he was up for a potter around the woods and I gave him time to sniff and get used to his surroundings. Early days for this quiet, gentle boy who needs all the love and kindness our staff and volunteers will bestow upon him while he waits for his special forever home.

I walked this lovely chap last week, he was a bit nervous when I went in to the kennel but let me put his harness on and with some gentle coaxing we set off . Perrys eye sight isn't good which probably adds to his nervousness. We had a slow trot through the woods . He is a nice lad and enjoyed the treats I offered him .He would be a great companion dog just a lap and warm bed with lots of cuddles is all he needs .Bless him xxxxx

I walked Perry yesterday. He is a very gentle soul but greeted me well so seems to have settled in and got over his nerves. We went for a brisk walk through the woods. He skips along and is very sprightly for an older boy. Very affectionate and we enjoyed cuddles and lots of fuss. Beautiful boy love4.gif

Perry was walking with Sue yesterday and Donny and I met them by the bridge. Perry is a little uncertain about going up the steep steps to cross the bridge, possibly because of his poor eyesight, but Donny and I went across first to encourage him and he bravely followed. In fact Perry seemed to enjoy a canine companion so we continued our walk with them and the boys were very relaxed and happy together. Perry crossed the next bridge without a problem.

Perry Greyhound Lurcher Elderly - Isleworth Foster

Post by xxlynne » Wed Oct 10, 2018 7:57 pm

Perry was fully vaccinated yesterday and today rejoined me back in the front seat of the dog mobile and travelled to meet Moyra and Rodger.

Many of you will remember Moyra and Rodger when they fostered and then adopted Bunny many years ago
Bunny's thread

Rodger has become very frail in his nineties and Moyra wanted to bring a new focus and joy into their lives again... It was wonderful to see Rodger light up on sight of Perry and stretch out to stroke him which he can do easily as Perry stands beside him. Moyra equally has such love for dogs and is showing Perry such caring on top of the many caring duties she currently holds for Rodger

(Sorry tail end is me checking out the garden boundaries again, I had originally homecheck the property many years ago.)
