Jam Jar Appeal

Postby Rummibailey » Sat Oct 31, 2015 8:54 am

Our Jam Jar Appeal aims to raise £1000 by the end of the year to help us to continue to save more lives.

It is easy!

Just print out the sheet on this post. Cut out the label and attach it to an empty jam jar and start collecting your loose change. Make another jar for friends or family or your workplace staff room. When full, cash in your change at a bank, post office or Coinstar machine and donate the total via our Virgin Money Giving page:

Thank you!

Please post a photo of your jar below if you will be joining us.

That's great, I've already filled a jar with 5p and 10p's we had but got lots more. Going to take them to the Coinstar machine tomorrow.

Have you started collecting your loose change for our Jam Jar Appeal?

I already had some collected so took them to the Coinstar machine at ASDA. Dead easy to use and raised £44.60.

I have donated this on the Virgin Money Giving page and signed up for Gift Aid so the government give an extra £11.15.

I should add that the Coinstar machine DOES charge a 9.9% fee, which is taken off before you get the receipt for the cash. Of course it is best to cash in at a bank or post office if you have the time to count up and take it in, but I wanted to use the machine to show how quick and easy it is!

Please do join in.

It is a very 'pain free' way of donating as you don't notice the odd 10p, 20p or coppers each day. If you put in 20p every day until the end of the year, you could raise over £10. If every forum member did that we would raise £20,000!

Our Staffie Facebook group has 4500 members, so if they did the same, that would be £45,000!!!!

Not to mention all the thousands that follow us on Twitter.

Please do set up a jar at home and make one for family and friends and ask them to do the same. Also take one into your workplace.

You can also have an "If only ... " jar. Put money in every time you read a dog's thread and say to yourself "If only ...".

We've raised £147 including gift aid so far! Hopefully those jars are getting full and you can start cashing them in soon.

Can I give mine to you on the Charity walk Nikki?

Hi Everyone

My local NatWest Branch has just been refurbished and they have installed a coinstar style machine
but they don't charge any commission.
If anybody going to the Charity Walk on the 12th wants to bring their coins along I will happily collect them to save you counting :D
and convert to notes for paying into RR acount. Unfortunately I wont be able to give individual totals just the overall total.
