Animal Welfare Article

Post by mollyb997 » Wed Nov 29, 2017 3:45 pm

Hello all,

I am a volunteer with the organisation, and a student, writing an article on why Wales have not agreed to change their sentencing laws for animal cruelty from 6 months to 5 years. (This is following England and Scotland's agreement to do so in September)

I just wondered if anyone had any views on the situation, and whether you would like to comment for the article/offer any reasons why the change has not happened.

I understand the charity often helps Welsh dogs, so this could potentially be affecting the perpetrators of any abuse directed to those dogs!! It is also incredibly important that if someone kills a dog, they can receive longer than a 6 month sentence.

All the best and thanks in advance!!!
