Pups now have their individual threads. All enquiries must be through our questionnaire via the website. We are small organisation; supported by volunteers who are extremely hard pushed on time. Please do not discuss your intention to home on the thread unless following submitting a questionnaire, you have discussed your suitability with Dee and been fully vetted ..else it gives the wrong impression that the pup is spoken for.

Molly is such a darling! She's a proper lap dog, and needs loads of cuddles and kisses. I've not had one like that before - mine are much more independent.

OK, yes, she is a bit barky and lungy around some dogs when out. She is scared, and tries to make them go away. I am not yet sure, but I think it is only bitches that she has an issue with. Thursday will be interesting - we have a daycare bitch in that day. Oh well, for one day I can segregate them! And visiting dogs are not allowed in with the babies!

I have yet to try her off - lead. But I suspect she will be fine, despite never having been walked off-lead before. We'll need to recruit some stooge dogs for that, and go off to the tennis courts and see how she is with strange dogs when unrestrained, and how her recall is. She pulls like a train (but has no muscle tone, so its no problem to hold her - for now!). And she is much better in a harness - too many years of pulling against a choke, methinks.

In the house we now have the boys in the kitchen with the puppies sometimes - under close supervision. So far they sniff and look at them as if they think they will go off with a bang. Molly is tolerating their presence around the pups very well. Occasionally she looks at the boys, and they back off very smartly! Its a novelty to see Seamus intimidated

Molly knows how to sit, and has learned very quickly that it is essential if she wants her food or treats. But she has clearly had few boundaries in her previous home, and settles on whatever piece of furniture she finds comfortable. I haven't yet challenged it (in this house you are only supposed to get on the human beds by invitiation! ) because I haven't the energy to enforce the rules at all times.

Pups are doing well, and devloping very fast. Its amazing to watch such tiny mites practising being big dogs. One took a toy off today, and tried to bury it - in a wooden cupboard, which wouldn't be scratched up, of course!

All are doing well. Pups are changing so fast! They now have the run of the kitchen because I can't keep them in the puppy den (back porchy place) - they climb over the board across the door. They come out into the rest of the house when we can supervise - Tiger and Seamus are still very wary!

Molly has gained over a kilo in weight (my scales don't seem to be quite in line with the ones at the vets) and looks a lot less angular than she did a week ago. She needs a lot more excercise to build up muscle - especially at the back - there was none there due to lack of walks. With experience of Seamus that takes months to build up.

Pups gain 1-2 ounces daily!

Molly was spayed yesterday. She was wobbly last night but all in all fine. Now with all Molly's pups homed, Ruthi is able to focus on her skill and confidence building exclusively with Tiger and Seamus's support. We can focus on finding her, her home. Pray it comes soon to avoid kennelling.

Motherhood behind her now the fun begins..

Molly's advert

Molly looks and behaves like small lurcher. She was bought as a pup through a petshop 6 years ago. She grew up in a busy household with another dog. She wasn't exactly centre of attention and was rarely walked. She was 'caught' by the next-door neighbours dog and has just had a litter of pups. We had the pleasure of helping Molly with her pups..all have flown the nest and she has been spayed. We are now happy with her health and are focusing on her needs. She is fostered with 2 other dogs and beginning to enjoy her walks. Still gaining her confidence, from the other dogs. Molly will need to build her confidence and further training before off lead is a consideration. We are rather pleased with the great strides she has made and are looking for the right family to offer her further skill and confidence building.

Molly is fundamentally a people dog, following you around and adores being stroked. She has lived with children but probably would be better with visiting children or older children as her pack. Molly is a whippet x and has all the characteristics of the whippet lurcher displayed in her personality. She is sensitive; a food opportunist; a door opener; and can do little jabs at dogs when meeting them which any lurcher owner will understand! She needs to build her confidence outside with dogs and may benefit from a muzzle as a temporary measure to enable closer socialisation. Oh yes and not really small furry company! Fostered in Bracknell Berks.

Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't updated since Friday, my internet has been down.

Molly is an absolute delight, I have never met such a cuddle monster in all my life!! She likes nothing better than a long scratch and cuddle. She has taken to Ian, although she is a little more reticient with him.

She seems very scared by new people and dogs. With people she adopts a very submissive position, so that her whole body is curled up. With other dogs, she starts to bark and adopts a high body stance, but it is clearly based on fear as she is so rigid and her body is shaking. Interestingly I have found that if you go down to her level, she jumps into your arms, she is so scared! I have started a very slow desenditisation plan with her. She loves children and was so gentle and sweet with my neighbour's two toddlers.

She was so much fun in the snow today, running around and chasing a squeaky ball with her lovely handmade coat from Ruthi. She is so happy when she knows she is going out. I couldn't believe how small she is, like a small whippet really. Will update with pics soon,
xxx
