I was expecting Deacon to be a medium to large dog judging by the above photo. In fact he is the same size as Bobby. Small medium. He is young, with a red brindle coat and a beautiful head. His energy is calm and hence so much easier to photograph. The camera lady was smiling, knowing Deakon was being protrayed in all his beauty, body and soul. For starters!

That is one of the most beautiful Staffie-types I have ever seen! I hope he finds a lovely home soon.

I collected Deacon on Saturday from the pound along with Rosco. On the basis that he seemed calm, he got to go on the back seat while Rosco was crated. He is incredibly affectionate and actually didn't want to leave the staff at the pound. Once he was in the car and we had a LOT of cuddles he relaxed and by the time we got him to his new home, he was snoring on the front seat with a proprietary paw on my leg (he did have a harness on - I just gave up with the back seat!). Unfortunately I chose the day that the M1 was shut for 2 hours but both dogs took to the travel "doggy" bottle I had and my air con works well but I was tired when we finally all got home. Deacon is a lovely boy, very sad eyes who really looks at you, really very calm for a young full boy Staffie (and when he and Rosco bumped into each other when being loaded, there was no snapping). His coat wasn't great but Rachel and co had their eyes on giving him a good bath (which has clearly happened judging by the photos!) My own 2 staffs reallygave me the once over when I got home ... now if I could persuade them to add to the pack...

Deacon had trip out today to Westerham. He met a wonderful family who had fallen deeply for his photo..but nothing compared with him in the 'fur'. Deacon met their cat really well; licked all the children with care and consideration and we all had a lovely walk over the park nearby.

Deacon is having his second vax on Friday pm then is going to join 'his' family for a 2 week period to see how the children and cat settle. We are all very confident.
