Sadly Jasper's health has rapidily deteriated over the past 2 weeks with coinfusion and tireless pacing over the last 4 days..today he couldn't stand up and Aileen carried him to the vets in her arms and he was given Peace. Jasper had a wonderful 5 months with Aileen....and now rests in Peace feeling proud he had been a treasured pet.

Jasper's thread is below
Jasper needs a supportive family to offer time and tolerance to allow their new dog to settle. NB Our Rescue asks owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters, as dog law changes place dog's lives at greater risk.

Known background: Jasper's is 12 year old and his elderly owner has gone into a nursing home. A neighbour was going into him throughout the day. We stepped forwards to offer a Rescue place and save Jasper's life. Jasper is neutered, and undergoing vaccinations. Jasper was now in foster with another terrier and 3 cats.

Jasper is a Westie x Jack Russell who has always lives as an only dog but socialises well with other dogs.

Visit Jasper's thread for daily updates, lots of pictures and videos. Please click to submit Online Application We will match you with a dog that suits your lifestyle, please remain open we successfully home 350 dogs per annum. We work fast to secure our dogs their loving homes.

***PLEASE HELP: We have to ask for suggested min. donation £175 at the time of adoption, to support so many dogs in kennels. We have no state sponsorship and exist on the goodwill of the public and our supporters. Rescue Remedies offers their dogs back up for life.

Original Referral: 8.01.16 Dear Dianna,
Attached 2 photos of Jasper - we think a cross Westie/Jack Russell aged 12. I do not know if he is chipped but he was vaccinated up to last September and then the old lady forgot about it. I have started him again on his vaccinations. He is neutered. The Vet have passed him as fit and well now.

We live in Tilford, and at present he is back in his old home - on his own as the old lady (90) is in a Residential Home. I am going across all through the day to feed him and let him out and walk him. The last 3 days I have walked him on a lead with my 3 bitches around our field and woods and he is as good as gold with them and I had him in the kitchen with them this morning without a lead before going to the vet. Again no problems at all.

We are not fenced for a terrier and have masses of rabbits so there is no way I can keep him. He is a dear little dog but I think being on his own for most of the day is beginning to get to him He is certainly completely clean and dry!! So has been well trained in that department.I am desperate to find a quick home for him as the house is about to be cleared and sold and if we do not find him a home we will have to put him to sleep - which I can't bear the thought of!

Thank you for any help Diana [/color]

I think I am in love. love4.gif What a gorgeous boy Jasper is, but then I am a sucker for a scruffy terrier. winkwink.gif

I am so glad this little man has gone into a foster home. I hope his elderly owner knows he is being so well cared for.

Please give him a big hug from me. :smiley-gen132.gif:

Helen brought over Jasper this morning for a photo or two, poor Jasper we couldn't have picked a more windy day!

he's such a little character, so so friendly and can live with cats too :cool.gif:

He loves to play ball (especially if it squeaks) thumbs.gif

I managed to take a photo where you could see both his eyes as it was so windy..

Oh! How wonderful that this little man is reserved. Please, please, please let's hope he will soon be with his new forever family.

It would be so wonderful if his elderly owner knows he had found a family to love and cherish him as they did.

I shall have everything crossed for him, but don't think he will need it as he is soooooo gorgeous! Good luck little man. I think I love you without ever having met you. :smiley-gen132.gif:
