Bunny Fell Terrier DOB 1997-8 - 2016 Isleworth
Homed
Homing Requirements: Bunny needs a family who can treasure her in her old age. She may have a few accidents indoors whilst she adjusts to being able to go out in the garden. She needs to get used to car travel; traffic, streetwalking and outside socialisation.
Her Story: Bunny has been bred and owned by a Fell terrier Breeder. She was a 'breeding bitch' and has usually shared her kennel with a male throughout her life until recently. She is now in her twilight years and we have spayed, vax'd and chipped her. Bunny is fostered in Isleworth on a temporary basis until we find her home or her permanent fosterer.
Advert: Bunny is a lovely little old terrier lady. She is currently highly dependent on her people as she doesn't have a clue as what is expected of her in a domestic setting. She paces as is her habit but will settle. She will be very interested in any food on offer to her, but also keenly interested in her human’s activities around food. Bunny will use the garden but may also have accidents indoors until she understands. She walks well on a short lead, needs to be walked on a harness. Her ineptitude to normal life should be a constant consideration as she grapples to understand life beyond her old kennel.
Bunny is a sweet little fluffy Patterdale. Her fur is very fine wire and is thin in areas. She has a few little tags associated with old age which are not a concern. Her vision is fine, she may be slight hard of hearing. Her temperament is soft and kind. She can be handled easily and picked up. She does tremble with nerves when she is unsure. Care should always be administered not to leave door or gates open as she has no road sense and could easily run scared if startled. Bunny will delight who ever can offer her a warm hearth and heart.
Please visit Bunny Fell terrier DOB 97-8 Isleworth to find out more about her and follow her progress.
If you are interested in re-homing please complete Our on-line Homing Questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

To long-term members be prepared to feast your eyes here is Stanley and Chleo's mum ...and Stanley's litter brother Blue will come out into our kennels as soon as we can get him out, as he being brother of Stanley needs a little work to be done before homing
Referral Details: Bunny's owner has asked us to find good terrier homes for most of her Fell Terriers who have been kennelled all their lives. Bunny was the oldest and her owner had doubt if we would be able to find a suitable home. We have convinced her that actually Bunny will be one of the easiest of the Terriers to home. So she is the first to pass through into the outside world and is now within our Rescue. The rest with the exception of her son Blue, will remain in kennels until we can find foster places or a permanent homes. But we are now beginning to pay to get them all neutered.
On Dianna and myself visiting the Terrier kennels Bunny was the last terrier we met. She was in a little kennel around the other side and was away from the mayhem. She came into my car and did really well; my continual awareness was what is little Bunny to make of all this. She pottered around the house and was pacing initially. She circled around the garden a little spaced out by the experience. Her appetite was 'keen'. She has no snappiness about her being handled, bathed or picked up. Too frightened to sleep on the bed and spent the night curled up in a ball by the door.
Here she is in the car choosing to curl up in the foot well in a little basket.

what a little gem, so like my farley who at twelve and a half is also going a little grey round the eyes, hope she finds her loving forever home soon.

BUNNY_ October Update
Bunny has been with us now for 4 days. She really IS the sweetest little girl a real honey-bunny. After no eye contact at all for the first day, she now follows us around and gazes up expectantly when she wants something. The thing she loves most of all (apart from her food!) is the ˜dog in the oven and the dog in the mirror. There are 2 other dogs she has discovered, in other mirrors, who get excited kisses and tail wags galore! This (loneliness?) was reinforced for us when she went quite wild with delight and nearly broke her flexi-lead on seeing her first small dog in the park. She really would benefit hugely from being re-homed with another quiet dog, or at least having access to dogs. (We, sadly, do not yet receive tail wags, but she loves being gently brushed and talked to.)
Her soft furry dog bed is her special comfort zone & she likes also to curl up beside someone on the couch. After much trial and error - and damp newspapers indoors - she now chooses to piddle on dried leaves on the roadside & uses the garden regularly for her other business.
We have, however, had overnight accidents (2-hourly) on the kitchen lino as she is not keen on being left alone. She found her voice in the middle of her first night here, giving short sharp barks from her basket, and now (unfortunately) we have taught her that barking summons forth humans, so this will have to be changed. We are losing too much sleep! During the day she is quiet as a mouse...
Today in the heat-wave she enjoyed a little paddle in water and promptly did a belly-flop to cool down. Indoors she enjoys a cool air fan as she is a little puffle-bunny when too hot.
In lieu of being able to romp with other dogs, Bunny needs to be taught how to play. We have not made much headway with balls, or tug-ropes, or even a kong-with-biscuits but (when in the garden) she is an alert and interested little dog, but also likes to know exactly where her humans are.
Her walks seem to tire her out (I am wondering if they are too long, as she collapses in her basket for long, deep sleeps - ˜out like a light after every outing). She is reluctant to go for night-time walks and keeps stopping. She is also frightened of loud noise from main road traffic. We once had to carry her across a busy junction as she was shivering. Tomorrow we intend to cross the junction by bus!

Well Moyra and Rodger have been on the case with me reference to weeing over night. They had a large crate in their kitchen with the view to restrict her and reduce the probabilty of mishaps in 'her bed area' Princess Bunny would not be closed in..little tantrum..so door was opened and she settled slept in it like a lamb. 2 nights dry now and today with swapped it for a snug small crate with a door that lies on top so easier for Moyra to manage in the kitchen ie no door flapping about..message received tonight..
"Hallo Lynne,
Hope your day went smoothly!
Bunny has taken to her new wee house -- keeps her from underfoot while I'm cooking! Also made her first journey up steep flight of stairs here.
Warm regards, appreciate all your to-ing and fro-ing,
M."
NB should be called anything but the WEE HOUSE!

Little Bunny is doing so well. Spent the morning yesterday with her and Moyra as we took her to the vets for her second vax and health review. Her right ear still has infection so treatment to continue. She has a bacterial infection of her skin so she is now on antibiotics and cortisone for a limited time to help her through. Rodger welcomed us home and over a cuppa I observed how settled she was as if she had always lived the life of spoilership and pampered luxury...born to it. She wear diapers at night now so she can be upstairs and you guessed it she is dry everynight and Moyra and Rodger dont worry about carpets.
So beautiful girl... she is doing so well and this weekend she has visitors; a daughter and grandchild to cuddle up to!
