Bruno Welsh Terrier DOB 06 Battersea
It is with immense sadness I write to tell you that Bruno, who adopted us in 2011 has sadly passed over the rainbow bridge. He had recently been diagnosed with liver cancer, but it was in the early stages. On Sunday, he lay down by my feet and went to sleep. He leaves a huge Welsh Terrier sized hole in my heart.

[/url]Homing Requirements: Bruno needs an understanding experienced terrier home where negotiation is key not direction and control and certainly never confrontation. With the right attitude Bruno will prove easy. Not to live with children but fine with older visiting children where they understand. "Only dog" status but could welcome a visiting dog (Quite selective on canine companions). Good with dogs outside and in the car.
His Story: Bruno grew up with a childless couple working long hours. Suddenly his mum was home with a baby. Bruno like most terriers doesn't understand babies or toddlers and so sadly has lost his home. He can nip if rushed or if he feels threatened. Bruno is neutered, chipped and vax'd.
Advert: Bruno in terrier exeprienced hands will be an easy terrier, he is not for a first time terrier owner. The right home will be where he is treated with respect and not rushed e.g. coaxed in from the garden rather than ordered in. Bruno spent a lot of time in garden alone latterly when baby arrived home. He can nip when flustered but managed with respect he is very malleable and compliant. Bruno is fine to be left for periods of time; loves company and activity . Travels well in the car but may be sick so best on an empty tummy. Housetraining need conscious management reflective of a dog what has been left long periods. He is delightful to walk but not an off lead dog.
Bruno loves to be fussed, he smiles on 'good boy!' He will love to jump up on your lap and have a fuss. He smiles and his body language is very clear..if perplexed you can see it. Bruno is managing very well in a multi-dog household but only mixes with 3 of the 6 dogs. He can get agitated with too lively or confrontative energy: He is doing well since he was always an only / lonely dog. Bruno enters dialogue and activity in his own time you wont find a more loving laid back terrier.

Referral Details: Bruno has been owned since a puppy now 6yrs old. He was left during the day as a young dog. Bruno settles when people arrive after initial excitement but on occassions can try to stop them leaving. His 'mum' has been around since the birth of the first child 16 months ago. His owners find it difficult to have Bruno around a toddler as he can protect his food He likes other dogs, but always retained on an extender lead. Bruno was homed privately for 2 weeks but was returned as he had nipped someone. Bruno is coming into 'holding' foster tomorrow morning and will travel down to kennels Thursday the 3rd March.

Had the pleasure of this gorgeous boys company today for part of his journey South before handing him over to Kevin - what an absolute darling, settled very well in the car and didn't object to being handled at all. Was tempted to turn round and take him back home with me - he is like a big teddy bear !!!!!!!!!!

Well Kevin spent 26 hours with Bruno and the pair travelled practically the length of England together. Bruno practically pushing Kevin out of bed last night. Kevin delivered him to our doorstep tonight. I arrived home 20 mins later and was surprised how big Bruno was; how rotund Bruno was; deep rich black and tan of the Welsh Terrier so different to our Lakie who is silver and beige! Bruno is very affectionate and adores being called a good boy.
He had lots of pootles around our garden before saying good bye and heaps of love and thanks to Kevin. He likes to lay with his legs splayd out on the floor behind him. Not twitchy about being fussed or loved. Met Toby; Monty and Brandy really well just standing still and allowing them to sniff him. Second time meeting Brandy Bruno's tail was bent right over and going ten to dozen in glee.

Bruno spent the night on the sofa with his soft toy friend..not a peep. Pootling around the garden this morning and just wasnt coming in but after half an hour agreed to.
Bruno meeting Monty who was his usual sergeant major self and Bruno was a little scared.
Bruno could so live with Brandy and Toby having spent the morning in the lounge together. Had a lovely walk with my Brandy (Lakie) by the river Thames this afternoon in the sunshine. Lots of pictures sitting because this is what Bruno does sits when he sees a dog or sits to see a scene.
And finally this is Bruno's girth! He is 18" to the shoulder the same height as my female Irish Terrier was but he is more square not so long in the back. His colours are a lot more rich 'in the fur' same as a Rotties..he has a slightly protruding lower jaw shown on the firat picture above.

Bruno is now mixed with 5 of the 6 dogs in our house. We take our terriers very slowly so they feel in control and Bruno hasn't put a foot wrong. He seems happy being in the pack but also settles in the front room by himself or with my old guys. Bruno is a terrier you need to respect, negotiate with and give him time. When he goes in the garden he can show a reluctance to come back in..but will do in his own time

Smile What a gorgeous boy, so like Wally apart from the tail curled over the back. Such a teddy bear. Here's wishing him lots of luck.

So pleased.. Robin and Colin came to walk Bruno today..they walked along the Thames and enjoyed spring coming into its glory. The decision was made on their return that Bruno would do very well under their care and they are now engaged in getting the measure of the lad!
Is he bovered? No Bruno is pretty chuffed..chicken was mentionsed as a staple diet!
