Re: Stanley Boxer x Lurcher DOB 2011 Rayleigh Essex
Hi everyone just wanted to post a couple of photos of our lovely Stanley. We can't believe it's 3 months tomorrow (17th Jan-17th April) since our gorgeous boy came home to Rayleigh with us. He gives us so much pleasure every day, he's so calm, loving and such fun. I think we have been truly accepted now as the 'sofa hog' is happy to share the settee with us and all the members of the family and in fact will round us up from where ever we are in the house, doing a 'Kiki' dance expressly asking us to sit with him. He regularly climbs up and falls asleep on one of us. His 'touchy' back legs don't seem to be an issue now mainly due to my frequently massaging them, he does still get stiff in his legs when he's run around too much but as he's now getting used to more exercise the stiff days are getting more infrequent.
Stan is really relaxed both at home and outside, the family all love him. He will be coming with us on our holibobs soon so the next photos will probably be of Stanley on a beach in Suffolk, fingers crossed it's in sunshine not in pouring rain
I have finally found the right commands to stop him pulling, so short lead around the streets are happy events for my poor shoulders and finding a few local places he can go off lead makes sure that he gets a really good run every day and boy is he fast - especially where there are squirrels

Lovely pics of Stan the Man. We all knew he would plonk himself firmly in the hearts of a special family, he did that to all of us walkers at RR. Thank you for loving him and for posting such a wonderful update. Hugs and cuddles to the gorgeous man xxxxxxxxx

Thank you for such lovely comments, what love you all show to the dogs and also to each other
Stanley had a wonderful holiday in Suffolk, what more could a dog want - a loving family to spoil him, lovely walks in the countryside & even better lead-free running on the beach, staying in a pretty cottage and more rabbits then a dog could shake a stick at. Stanley was able to run free on the beach every day, he had 4 to choose from he met lots of interesting people, dogs and visited some lovely places and it was sunny nearly every day too
What a good boy he was, travelling and settling into a strange new home he took it all his stride. My brother stayed for 2 days and was so impressed with how Stan had settled.
We were able to take Stanley into pubs, tearooms and cafes and he behaved really well.
Thank you RR for setting Stanley up to be such a lovely boy, he's a credit to all your hard work, patience, love and belief
