Darren's Story: Darren was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Surrey council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Darren is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. Darren is in boarding kennels near Gatwick whilst awaiting his new family. Darren enjoyed foster with 2 other dogs whilst waiting for his family.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

On Monday Darren had a walk with Sue, accompanied by myself and Buster. The boys got on rather well and enjoyed each others company.

Oh my goodness, this boy is such a sweetheart. He's very eager to get out, but once out he's a bit nervous. He warms up to you in just a few minutes and settles happily into his walk in about five minutes, but he is a little stop-start because of his nerves. We walked with Missie and he was an angel with her. He gets a little bit shouty around dogs that aren't from rescue it seems, but in no way aggresive, like he just wants to make himself known!

He walks so beautifully on the lead, not a single pull, and constantly checking to make sure you're still there and with him. Walks right by your side. thumbs.gif

What a good boy he is. He's obviously lived in a home and enjoyed comfort in his life. Fine with other dogs, he's ignoring my two, which suits them just fine. Clearly house-trained too.

Darren is being a good boy, is easy to walk and house-trained (he asks to go out, and if you're not quick enough will try the door handle himself, so we are keeping doors locked). He's mostly ignoring my dogs, but did try to get May to play with him yesterday. He does like to play with a ball or toy, and has a mad zoomies now and again. It's lovely to see him relax and enjoy the comforts of home. He's not bothered if you go upstairs, but hasn't been alone without a human around.

Darren has been with us for a week now. Still underweight but we are getting there. He's had a few mad play sessions with May. He's such a playful boy, but only in brief spurts, he's then asleep again within minutes :-)
