Rabsy's Story: Rabsy was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within a Welsh council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving his life. Rabsy is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Rabsy was in foster with two dogs whilst he awaits his new family... they became his forever home!

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

Rabsy's progress through our Rescue is below.
We work with our dogs, who often reveal a different picture and positive skills as they build trust.
Original Referral information:
Rabsy was a Welsh dog who was desperate for a Rescue place. "New red boy, I haven’t named him yet, lovely boy, seems dog friendly, he only came in last weekend." West Wales Lianne

This lovely boy has come to visit. I couldn't resist him when I met him all bewildered at Guildford today. He was scanning all the faces for someone familiar, poor boy. Initially a little wary, perhaps more so with men, but he soon overcomes any nervousness. A little unsure of strange / loud noises, like the trains that run very nearby the kennels. When May came crashing through the water out of the pond, it scared him to death, and he tripped over himself trying to get away. He doesn't pull on the lead, in fact you are more likely to trip over him than be pulled over, as he likes to keep close, perhaps he's a little insecure.
I thought he might cock his leg everywhere when he came inside but not at all...so far so good.
Not very interested in other dogs, although I think I saw some playful vibes with May. Mostly he ignores the girls (my dogs), and them him. I fed him in our huge crate, and he seems to like it in there, as he took himself in there and lay down a little later.
He's very sweet, affectionate and well behaved. angel13.gif]

Sorry, not a great video as we were walking towards the low sun, and very windy ! We've had a good night without a peep.

I love this boy so much, he's amazing. Why oh why would anyone abandon him, after all the effort of turning him into the good boy that he clearly is? Oh apart from breaking the ball flinger in two today, but he's not the first to do that.

(Since returned)

Cerys and her parents Edward and Susan have recently lost Sonny ...and Barney needed a new friend. Rabsy seemed to fit the bill..so having had a lovely walk together today Rabsy has gone home to settle with his new family and have fun with Barney.

Our Gratitude to Suzanne and family for giving Rabsy a wonderful stay in Rescue and showing his gifts so that his new family can enjoy forever. :thanks.gif:

Yes Rabs met Barney today. Barney is full of fun and exuberance, whereas Rabsy is a little more reserved and unsure. Hopefully they will find some middle ground, become friends and enjoy some playtimes together. Thank you so much Cerys and Susan for coming to meet him today. I hope that you all have a lovely life together with your lovely boys.
