Roxie's Story : Found stray/abandoned & unclaimed within a Midland council pound: Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Roxie is now neutered; chipped and fully vaccinated. Roxie was in boarding kennels nr Gatwick (Had 2 weeks in foster as an only dog).
PLEASE NOTE: Dog laws have changed with zero public tolerance and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces, and manage and support encounters so as not to place dog's lives at risk, (Destruction or Control Orders are common place nowadays).
***PLEASE HELP OUR LONG STAY DOGS: Our min. adoption donation £175, which supports our work and Is non returnable. We will offer an alternative dog should our dog not settle given adequate time and reassurance. Rescue Remedies offers their dogs back up for life and exist on the goodwill of our supporters and volunteers.
Please click for Roxie's thread for regular updates, new pictures and videos. To apply to home a dog, you must be ready within 7 days and complete a homing questionnaire submitted Online We work fast to secure our dogs their loving homes and can be talking to up to 10 families at any one time. Please remain open: We have the dogs we have. Our dogs need a supportive family to offer patience, time & tolerance to allow them to settle.

Original Referral information : We work with our dogs & often reveal a different picture & positive skills as they build trust. 30.06.18: Hi Lynne, I know you're very busy down there and have 6 waiting to come in from Wales but we have been asked to get rescue space for a lovely brindle and white Staffie called Roxie. She is a 9yr old with lovely temperament. Initially came in as a stray but the owner was "outed" on Facebook so came up to sign her over.
Would you have a little space for this lovely one at all please? Many thanks, Di
Re: Roxie Staffie DofB 2009 Midlands pound comes soon
Little Roxie is lovely indeed. She is so friendly, I had barely got in her kennel and she was straight up for cuddles. No fuss getting out the block past other dogs and once out she showed me how good she was walking on the lead. But it was when I sat down to take some photos she unleashed her love of people on me. She was on my lap in a flash looking for fuss and cuddles. It proved difficult to get photos as she was either snuggled up to me or her attention was elsewhere which you can see in the photos. This little sweetheart will be adored by our volunteer walkers and I hope she gets a lovely home soon. xx
Re: Roxie Staffie DofB 2009 Gatwick Kenns
I met Roxie yesterday and straight away she was my best friend. Easy to exit kennels not bothered by barking house mates . Walks like a dream not pulley. We went and sat in the poets hut and Roxie was on my lap smothering me in staffie kisses quite content to lay on my lap and chill. She did a good inspection of the bed , it was quite difficult to get a good pic of her, she's a busy lady.
We had a lovely amble through the woods . We met newbie's little Lucky and Milly and Roxie was keen to say hello.
She is a proper staffie girl Happy, Friendly, Adorable dream dog bless her xxxxx

Re: Roxie Staffie DofB 2009 Gatwick Kenns
Roxie has been in Foster with us for a week now and has settled in great. She was a bit anxious at first but is totally chilled now.
She is a beautiful girl who is so affectionate and just wants contact all the time. She is brilliant with my son and loves curling up on the sofa with him whilst he plays xbox.
She enjoyed a trip to the seaside and loved paddling in the sea.
She travels well in the car which is great. She can be a little edgy with other dogs but as she's more socialised I'm sure that will calm down.
Roxie so deserves a loving home as she is a wonderful dog😊😊

Re: Roxie Staffie DofB 2009 Gatwick Kenns
I walked the beautiful Roxie on Tuesday. I have lost my heart to her, she is a little beauty. Very keen to get out for a bit, very easy to harness up, and so easy to walk. We had a loose lead all the way round, so loose that I had to keep disentangling it from between her front legs as I had extended the lead and she wanted to walk close to me! We did a reasonable length walk in quite hot conditions so had a couple of trips down to the river to cool off and Roxie had a very happy splash about. Obviously I want her to be rehomed ASAP, but in the meantime I am really looking forward to walking her again and spending some more time with her.
Re: Roxie Staffie DofB 2009 Oxted W/E Foster recovery
Roxie needs your healing thoughts and strength please, she’s a very poorly girl with a nasty lung infection making her breathing strained.
Roxie spend the night in the vets having been operated on after X-rays to ensure all was well in her abdomen which thankfully it was - all good and healthy - pumped full of antibiotics to fight the infection, she was on a drip last night and responding well so has come home to me for rest and tlc late this morning. She ate a small amount of fish at the vets this morning which has stayed down and had a pee, all good signs.
She’s still a very poorly girl but has eaten some finely shredded chicken since coming home and is resting and sleeping right now.
Roxie loves a cuddle so relishing the human attention of a gentle stroke of her head back and chest - mum and dad are here to stay so thankfully we can all take turns

Bless sweet Roxie
She loves to be close to you, think it makes her feel safe. Her breathing is still like she had a 50 a day habit but I think (hope) it’s improved over the course of the day but still quite laboured. Delighted that Roxie has managed some flaked chicken and scrambled egg and a little bit of ham - very clever at detecting (and spitting out !) her tablets but we were watching like hawks and have managed to get her to swallow them !
Here she is getting some fresh air this afternoon with my mum in the garden Roxie is an absolute darling, we love her to bits and just want her to get better xxx
