Re: Frank Staffie DofB 2016 Gatwick Kenns
Frank is indeed, a lovely boy. He was very upset in the kennel block today and a bit reactive to dogs coming out. Once on our walk, he settled down. Frank is very connected and responsive when walking and didn't pull, so an easy walk. He did growl when we met a walker with Chase but quickly walked on. He is a little nervy and can flinch when stroked, but when walking, if I called him, he ran back to me for fussing, so I was sure he wanted to make friends, he's just a bit unsure of himself. Went back in kennels nice and calm. Does a lovely sit when asked and very attentive.

Re: Frank Staffie DofB 2016 Gatwick Kenns
Frank shared his walk with Blossom this morning. Blossom was very maternal around Frank, looking out for him and checking that he was keeping up. Frank was very relaxed in the company of Blossom.
Re: Frank Staffie DofB 2016 Gatwick Kenns
Frank had another date with Blossom today. Blossom seems to 'mother' him which he just takes in his stride. He was happy to let her walk close to him.

To my mind Frank is near perfect. Can I say more?
Re: Frank Staffie DofB 2016 Guildford Kenns
I do love Frank. Like many of our dogs, he finds kennels very stressful and comes out like a rocket. He mouths gently on entering his kennel but it didn't worry me, it was very soft. He just wants out and gets excited. Once walking, the gorgeous boy just trots along, good as gold. The only time he took up slack on the lead was when he saw squirrels or the cat
We passed all dogs well and Frank was very laid back. Please let Franks home come soon, he's a lovely boy and just needs to relax, and this won't happen in kennels.

Re: Frank Staffie DofB 2016 Guildford Kenns
A day with Frank in which he didn't disappoint.
He does grip arms and wrists gently and jumps up to give affection but a few firm 'nos' and this reduced by about 80%. He is a treat addict and will sit and offer either paw for a reward. I was very pleased to see true Staffy character appear when he grabbed one of my slippers for a game of chase. He is good on the lead and is great company around the house.
My only reservation would be his suitability for a family with young children until his jumping up and mouthing are fully under control.
A wonderful boy and I love him to bits.

Another day out with Frank.
A great time retrieving balls and sitting to wait for them to be thrown again. Impressive.
great with my grand children aged 5 to 18. Well behaved took treats gently from young fingers.
Then it was my daughter's cat Bobby's turn.
Brought up with a Bella a large Staffie/Lab cross, Bobby enjoys playful rough and tumbles with her. He was full of confidence and wanted to make friends. Unfortunately Frank wasn't at all keen to make friends with him, in fact completely the opposite.
It was very hard to distract his gaze focused on the cat and it was obvious that he wanted to attack rather than play.
Frank is a very intelligent young dog and we all agreed that with time devoted to discipline training, all his little problems could be resolved.
He is super affectionate, good to walk, a wonderful companion and so, so handsome. We love him.

Frank is coming along nicely.
When I went to collect him from his kennel today, he was as ever excited, but no jumping up or mouthing ( very gently chewing on arms or wrists)
Out and about he is more responsive to commands now and is making good progress regarding his fear of water.
He is always great to walk and a pleasure to have as a companion.
Hopefully we can work on his socialising next as although not aggressive his attitude towards some dogs can be rather hit or miss.
This is probably caused by having to run the gauntlet past his jealous kennel companions when he sets out with his walker.
I still think as a Staffie he is near perfect.

Re: Frank Staffie DofB 2016 Guildford Kenns
Long walk plus home visit today.
We met quite a few dogs on the walk today, both on and off lead. Frank was positive on each occasion greeting each with a wagging tail and no hint of malice.
He met chickens for the first time . He was very excited but quickly responded to recall 'Frank here' and then sat and just watched.
Frank continues to learn to respond to commands and each time I see him there is an improvement.
Little things can unnerve him but as his confidence grows these should disappear.
He just needs patience and commitment.
I just love this guy.
