We are preparing a big celebration down here....February 5th is Podge's third Gotcha Day, if you include her foster period. You all know she was given just five weeks to live back in February 2016 and has had lots of times when she needed the vets' help....even now she has twelve "sweeties" a day(!!!!)….but she's still with us.

I am so pleased with her....she would not settle at all when she first arrived and, indeed, until quite recently. Now, however, she spends much of her time resting on one of the settees or wandering into the garden for a couple of minutes or taking a slow, five minute walk down the road to a little grassy area.

Onwards and upwards!

We're waiting in anticipation the delivery of a special "Gotcha Cake" sometime this morning.

Podge was taken in on foster three years ago today. You know the poor prognosis she was given when she arrived but, as a result of the amazing work of Mark (at Mark Nelson in Westerham) and Lindsey (at Barrow Hill down here in New Romney), her condition, if anything, has improved. She continues to have the occasional fit, and her breathing is less of a problem. Recently, she has had prolonged bouts of intestinal infection and trouble in her "waterworks" together with pain, causing her to become a little aggressive from time to time. But she still takes part in the morning chorus welcoming the dog walkers and is much more relaxed, spending a great deal of her time spread out across one of the settees in the sitting room.

Podge is a living tribute to the incredible work of our vets....thank you.

We all love Podge, wish her continued good health and thank her for her longsuffering and the affection she has shown us.

Happy Gotcha Day, Podge!
