Marvin needsa supportive family to offer time and tolerance to allow their new dog to settle. Marvin must live with at least 1 other dog as he would be too exuberant as a solo dog. Unassessed with cats or small furries. Marvin would do well with a couple with no live-in children: Marvin can turns his attention on his loved one & play grabs. He will gradually mature out of this but would benefit from firm reward centred training. Marvin is versatile and intelligent to adapt. Marvin needs a garden or off lead exercise area close by. NB Our Rescue asks owners to maintain dogs on lead in public spaces and manage encounters, as dog law changes place dog's lives at greater risk.

Marvin within the pound's pack

Known background: A man was seen going around an estate trying to get people to take Marvin. Next morning Marvin was found within a secure garden area abandoned. Unclaimed within a council pound: Registered microchip owner reported selling him on months ago. We were happy to offer Marvin a Rescue place. Marvin is neutered and chipped. Marvin is due his yearly vaccination. Marvin is currently in Broxbourne sharing a kennel and mixed within a pack of dogs during the day.

About Marvin: Marvellous Marvin: The man is special, soft hearted and playful. He adores dogs so much we are looking to home him with at least one. Great with teenager upwards and ready to give his paw at the hint of a treat or kind word. Marvin soaks up praise and earns it well. Can want to play with his people and this can involve grabbing arm Marvin needs a strategy to train him to distract this behaviour. Marvin is very well meant but but is still a large puppy at heart. With time to settle he will gain control over his excitement. Can get very excited when visitors come and so controlled introductions need to occur to keeping his excitement calmed. A giant of a dog with gigantic charisma.

Marvin is a 2 year old American Bull Dog . What a wonderful example he is, showing his devotional nature, with no guardy facets to his temperament. Large in size and large in character...we all adore him.. and so will you. Marvin's owners must be young at heart and have a great sense of humour 'cause Marvin is a clown!

Well I make Marvin's seven days up so I guess he's officially in the rescue.
Marvin is an absolute joy to have around; he stayed with us for a night where he met all the girls and Stan very nicely indeed. I've checked in with Adam at Broxbourne today to see how this total sweetheart is doing and he's doing great! A very good boy indeed and clean in his kennel.

Marvin is in great shape. He was clean in the house and slept on a bed behind our doggie gate where he stayed all night and not a peep out of him. He is a young lad with absolutely loads to give. He travelled brilliantly in the car from where he was found back to Broxbourne. Curious about the goings on of passersby but he is young so understandable. :biggrin.gif:

Here are a few more pics of this gawjus boy just so you can see for yourselves how handsome he really is. :smiley-gen132.gif:

Marvin off lead never strayed from my side ... a bit of a plodder bless him xx

Marvin is really capturing 'the love' from a broad audience and yesterday I really understood why as did Chester's new owners he fell under his spell

Marvin was neutered on Tuesday 2nd September...such a good boy travelled very well as my front passenger and very welcoming of the other dogs into the dog mobile. Star!

Marvin was delivered into foster yesterday and took his 'captures' by storm. We always say never deliver a dog at night but needs must as else Marvin would have had to endure another 4-5 days in kennels and you know what we say "1 day is a week in a dogs life".

Marvin came to stay with us for a couple of days and he was very excited to be in a home. He is everso friendly towards everyone he meets and wants to say hello to as many people as possible. He walks nicely on the lead with no pulling just ears flapping and tail wagging and sitting at kerbs when asked.
We walked around busy streets which didnt bother him at all. He loves other dogs and was very pleased to meet the dog next door through the fence, and when he was told off by another dog on our walk that didnt bother him either.
We left him for short periods without any problems he was just pleased to see you when you came home. He has learnt to wait for dinner and takes treats gently.
He was very interested in cats but I think its more for the chase.
Marvin is a young happy go lucky dog with not a bad bone in his body only excited ones!

Well team MarknSal up to full strength so photos will follow. Actually walked 3dogs all of whom would I feel be suitable for any family. Marvin is a lovely dog, very submissive keen on a belly rub and more focused on his walk than on the treats on offer but when he did take the treats he was ever so gentle. The walk was a bit entertaining initially as Marvin was desperate to play with Bella who wanted nothing to do with him, in a disinterested sort of way which she then emphasised a bit as he persisted. Felt sorry for Marv as he is a really sociable dog who would just love to play all day. Once a détente was established what is clear is that he is a really easy dog to walk only pulled a bit on the road back to the kennels where he could hear his playmates. So easy non reactive dog who is friendly and has a lovely personality, easy to walk. If you have a young fun loving dog at home and decided Marvin was for you, then you would have endless hours of safe play as although he wants to play he would not hurt a fly unless he sat on it.

Lovely to hear Marvin is doing so well; I can only reiterate your words in that Marv is a kind and gentle soul. We'll be seeing him tomorrow when we pick up Stan and Ella. :smiley-gen132.gif:
