Sidney loves blackberries. Sidney can't always reach blackberries. Because he and Todd are utterly spoilt Sidney is hand fed blackberries.

Little Sid is not quite so little and has turned 8 today (yes I know what his blog says but his papers are 2009). He started off with a long walk before breakfasting on freshly cooked liver, time for a snooze and a lot of under his breath woofing at noises he can hear, off for another walk down to the river and a lot of exploring in the long grass where little critters live before dining on roast lamb this evening. Sadly no cheese course as he needs to watch his weight.

He remains the stubborn, self-assured, self-confident Terrier that he has always been. Knows his own mind, prepared to stick up for it and then go off grumbling to himself when he loses out. Loves a night in front of the wood stove, long walks, food, running like the wind when in the garden or secure paddock, teasing woofing dogs by loitering outside their houses as they go ballistic. You know, being a Terrier. Although he can be aloof he sidles up to you whenever the chance presents itself to have a snuggle. No duvet is left unslept under and no chair goes unslept on. He is so happy and each day is greeted by a waggy tail. Sadly that's dawn in the summer but heading the right way now the nights are drawing in. He teases Todd mercilessly, loves goading him into a play fight which can last and last. Between him and Todd there is an awful lot of character in the house so you'll fit right on in Sweetpea!

Chest rubs are non-negotiable in this house
He is very much loved.

Sid utterly loves sitting in front of the wood burner stove or the open fire. Either is good so long as feet are nice and toasty warm after a walk in the cold.

Bit overdue for an update. Sid is doing great and living a life of country walks and sardines for dinner when he behaves himself. He has an uncanny ability to find pheasants lurking in the undergrowth causing them to jump up and nearly give his accompanying humans a coronary. He will be 9 in October and he has some white hairs coming through along with a little less stamina on walks. Keep that in perspective though as we are talking about 6 mile walks as opposed to 9.

This was him halfway up the Downs near Chilham on Sunday

Massively overdue update. All is well with Sid (and Todd). Currently on hols in Brittany before heading south for another week between Poitiers and Limoges. They have had a week of walks, paddling in the sea, clambering over rocks and sleeping it all off again. Oh, and lots of cheese.

He remains as cheeky as when we first met him and despite him going a bit grey and turning 9 in a few weeks he is as feisty as ever. He also remains as fun loving and as much of a cuddle monster as he ever was.

Here he is in our backyard in Loguivy de la Mer with his partner in crime Todd. Peter is in there somewhere.
