Rollo JRTx DOB 04.2009 - 4th December 23
May 18, 2013 10:38 am
Current Status: Homed
Homing Requirements: Rollo deserves to be owned by a family who really get terriers and delight in his antics. He needs a secure terrier-proof garden and a family who are aware that front doors and garden gates are never left open as 'there is a terrier in the house’! Rollo has always been an only dog and we feel he would prefer to remain so.
His Story: Rollo grew up in a family with older children. He gets excited meeting other dogs and his family didn't have the confidence to offer him to settle, so preferred not to walk him and surrendered him for that reason. Rollo is neutered, chipped and receiving vaccinations.
Advert: Rollo is a dear and very attractive terrier. He is easy to handle and is affectionate to attention. Rollo enjoys the extent of an extender lead and is meeting dogs well given reassurance and scope to say ‘hello’. He is busy and explorative which will have his terrier owners entertained indeed. He doesn't have reliable recall and his socialisation skills are rusty but will develop with opportunity and keeping him moving and parallel walking with friends.
Rollo is a 4 year old tri-coloured Jack Russell type terrier. Small in stature he stands to about 13-14" to the shoulder. He is in very good health. Rollo embraces life and would so enjoy an active life style. Rollo will soon meet his family we are sure - he is such a 'catch'!

Rollo arrived today and we went for a walk in the park to get to know each other. He met 3 dogs well . I am very matter of fact and don't pander into nerves but I did get a sense he could have got barky but no we kept moving and at the same time very nice hellos were said.

Rollo travelled in the dog mobile and had his 2nd vax yesterday. After a wee while's wait he then was let lose on the countryside via the extender lead and oh what a busy little person he always is..

Rollo was my second walk today. He was very vocal whilst in his kennel getting ready to leave and at the beginning of his walk. Once on the bridle way, he settled down. I put him on an extender to give him chance to have a good look around and be a terrier. The grass in the field was higher than him, but that didn't stop him running around. Once back at the kennels I took Rollo into the paddock, he should be called Roll-o!, because he just rolled over and over. A very cute young man.

Oh he was excited to be out and about today - as hot as it was we found a nice shady walk and he loved just running in and out of the undergrowth to investigate. He's a bright little chap and has bags of energy...although even after a relatively short walk he did seem pleased to get back to his kennel for a huuuuuge drink of water and lie down on the cool floor!

I took Rollo out for a walk this morning and we headed towards the pond. He was very vocal as we left the kennels and was so excited to be going out. At the pond he wasted no time in having a dip to cool off before heading back. He is such a character and very endearing.

Rollo was my last walk this morning and was as excited and vocal as he always is. He loved the puddles and wanted to visit as many as he could. Once back at the kennels I took him into the paddock and he picked up the old tennis ball, but instead of playing fetch, he rolled over and over on it, as if he was massaging his back, such a cute little chap.

I took Rollo out with Sheridan this afternoon. He is always vocal when he is harnessed and on leaving kennels. He usually settles after a short while although when we started walking and Sheridan was in front he would bark. Once Rollo took the lead he was quiet, except for his panting. He is a typical JRT, and loves to try to explore as much as possible on his walks. On the way back to kennels, he walked next to Sheridan although he did not pay him much attention. He is difficult to photograph as he always so busy and rarely stands still. He would love a forever home to explore and enjoy.
