Alice's Story: Alice was found stray/abandoned and unclaimed within an Oxford council pound. Rescue Remedies offered a Rescue place saving her life. Alice is now neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. We rehomed Alice to a family with a cat in July 2018, and the family worked hard to make a complex home situation work for Alice, but sadly for everyone, Alice had to be returned to us in November 2018. Alice needs a home that can support her while she continues to gain confidence within herself around both new people and new dogs.

If you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs, please complete our ONLINE HOMING QUESTIONNAIRE. It is always the first step in our rehoming process. Upon application, you must be ready to take in your new dog within seven days. For more detailed information, please see our Homing Process.

Please support our work and help our long stay dogs: Our minimum adoption donation is £175. This supports our continuing rescue work and is non-refundable. We exist solely due to the goodwill and donations of our supporters and volunteers. Our dogs need supportive families who will offer them patience, time and tolerance whilst they settle in their new homes. Our Rescue offers all our dogs back-up for life.

Please note: Dog laws have changed, with zero public tolerance, and prejudice against bull breeds and terriers. Our Rescue asks new owners to keep their dog on a lead in public spaces and manage and support its encounters with new dogs and people, so as not to place the dog's life at risk. Destruction and Control Orders are commonplace nowadays.

If you can save one of my girls? Have transport to eb tomorrow so can hold but no hold in pound - next in my girls will die. I am asking everyone not just you trying not to pressure.

This stunning girlie NEEDS A RESCUE SPACE TO SAVE HER and by god she deserves it!!!! Sooooo... seeking a rescue space is: Alice she is a 2-4 yr old staff x female. Alice came into pound extremely petrified and untrusting, it took staff a little while to gain her confidence, she is happier with people she knows now but still very wary of people she doesn’t. She is treat oriented so helpful to build up her trust. She doesn’t seem to be keen on small dogs and generally good with dogs. She needs someone to work with her and build her confidence, if she could talk we would know what people have done to hurt her in the past, I’m sure as sure can be though if Alice could tell us her past...it’s not bloody good. Alice is a sweetie, wobbly when she returned to the kennels from her spay yesterday, and looking for reassurance as she met quite a few new people - cuddling in close to Anne to build her courage, bless her she is very sweet and happy to meet but in her own time, i am sure Alice will thrive with RR and her confidence boost love4.gif

Although still a little nervous, Alice is gaining in confidence every day. She was much more animated and friendly and up for a walk this morning. She positively lit up when we were joined by Louise walking Chief and Biscuit. She was very keen to walk close to the other dogs and seemed more confident and happier in their company.

On return to the kennels, one of our cats was near a crate and was espied by Alice - a lean forwards to sniff the air ,and then a turn away.

I had a lovely walk with Alice. We kept to the shade of the woods as it was so hot. We did visit the stream but Alice politely declined to have a paddle but she did show me her best smiley, happy face.

I had the pleasure of meeting Alice on Sunday. She was happy to leave her kennel and walked beautifully on the lead as we headed for the woods. As the sun was shining I took her to the stream but she wasn't very keen on going in, although she did have a drink. When we finished our walk we sat for a while under the shade of the tree, where she was very interested in the treats I had in my bag and enjoyed a couple :)

A really lovely dog.

Alice and I have being enjoying shady walks to get out of the heat. She does not want to paddle in the stream but the mud by the stream is wet and cool for her paws and she makes use of the free salad bar!

My first meeting with Alice today. I just sat quietly in her kennel at first and she gave me a thorough inspection, as if to say lets have a look at you then. I think I passed as she became more and more friendly so I clipped her lead on and off we went. Alice is a stunning girl and walks well on the lead. We went into the shade in the paddock, where Alice was happy to amble around and didn't take much notice of me really. She came when called and seemed to want to go back to her kennel after a while. She passed other dogs well. Can't wait for her character to come out properly.

Just chilling
