Roscoe came into our care on Monday the 24th June. He has put weight on since the first photos above but he is in a poor state of health. He displays weakness in his legs
Look at his front paws inparticularly
On Wednesday Roscoe was helped into the dog mobile and went to see Ian our vet who has an orthopaedic specialism. When under GenAn for neutering Ian Xrayed his neck; shoulders; back and elbows and sent the Xrays over to an Orthopaedic specialist for comment.
Roscoe is building trust relationship. He is a dear dear soul and enjoying his kennel where he meets dogs who are in the paddock.. he has good dog skills.
He is stunningly beautiful and over the next few days we'll get some new photos to capture this

Re: Roscoe Dogue D B DofB 15.09.14 Gatwick Kenns
Our senior vet examined Roscoe on Tuesday and diagnosed Wobbler Syndrome cervical spinal cord compression so neurological condition affecting Roscoe muscular control and therefore his muscle strength thereof. He walks with a wobbly gait showing weakness. He has short-strides walking, with a floating appearance and weakness particularly in the front limbs. He has scuffed toenails from uneven walking. He knuckles when leaning to smell, eat or wee. He has had this all his life but would have been made more obvious in early adulthood. Roscoe is only 3 years old.
Roscoe is a lot more relaxed and happier now within the kennels. He is welcoming of everyone who comes into his kennel and enjoys his walks but he doesnt have a lot of stamina especially in this heat it has really affected him: We have needed to hand feed him recently but now he is self feeding again moist food only.

Gentle giant, sweet soul, SarahW you couldn’t be more right, he’s such a gentle sweetheart
I sat on the floor with the big lad last night, love him
This is the box I’ve set up so Roscoe has water at his height and his dinner bowl gets served there too - with dinner and breakfast at the moment I’ve held his bowl for him and then he loves to tuck in but he has eaten up the last morsels from his ‘tabletop’ aka box !!!
I knew Roscoe wouldn’t manage my stairs so set him up with a duvet on the kitchen floor, he loves it .
Perfectly clean and quiet overnight (11-7.30) and when I said goodnight he just pottered off to his duvet
This was my view this morning as I got to the bottom of the stairs
Big boy had some yoghurt after his main breakfast this morning, he loved it and this is his yoghurt face !!!
Watching me making my breakfast !!!
And early sunbathing in my lounge And back to his beloved duvet Honestly I had no idea just how scrummy and gorgeous this sloppy chops was, I am totally under his spell, he is amazing xxx

Oh my this big man is such a big softie
Such an easy boy to have around and utterly loving and so endearing. Perfectly housetrained, non destructive and completely fine with me around him and his food.
Roscoe doesn’t let his front legs debilitate him at all, he manages soooo well, the steps in my house both inside (slightly different levels between my kitchen and lounge) and out the back door into the garden, also the small steps on my decking - I virtually haven’t noticed it today at all : D
Roscoe has developed his gait to compensate so well, a small flick of his front paws as he goes up or down a step, forward motion the same and he can go backwards if he needs to with no bother - it’s amazing to see how well he’s developed his strategy to not let his legs stop him, such a clever boy
Roscoe has also eaten his lunch out of his bowl on the table box ! All by himself, didn’t need me to tempt him, he seems to be loving his food now so let’s hope he puts on some much needed weight bless him
Roscoe has just enjoyed a pamper session, he LOVED it He is malting quite a lot so I wondered if he would like a brush, he made sweet contented little noises and stood so still for quite a long while ! Much old hair removed - we were in the garden thankfully !!! Then you’ll see on his pics he has a very dry and cracked nose so on went the snout soother and he didn’t mind at all
LOVE this boy xxx He showed some interest in the doggie paddling pool in the garden so I thought I’d fill it with the hose ...
Roscoe thought the hose was fab !!!
And he loves that the paddling pool turned into a massive drinks bowl
He really is exceptionally handsome and impossible to resist kissing that forehead of his Roscoe is definitely enjoying the peace and quiet away from the kennels and catching up on his beauty sleep xxx
