Sadly Bert is still in kennels [cry.gif] We had a lovely walk on Saturday afternoon - he appreciated the cooler weather. We went all around the lakes and he enjoyed being a typical terrier and searching the bushes for anything that moved! There must be a terrier lover somewhere who can offer this gorgeous boy a home

I enjoyed another walk with Bert yesterday. He comes out of the kennels full of excitement, but at times he decides that he doesn’t really want to walk and he randomly lies down. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern to his chosen spot, it can be on the road, path or grass and on the way out or the way back. He has a moment or 2 on the ground and then he’s ready to head off again.
Yesterday we met 3 off-lead dogs. The first, a Labrador, was very quiet and they had a brief amicable sniff of each other. I then came across 3 people with 2 off-lead dogs, a retriever and a Boston Terrier. While I explained Bert’s past to the owners he was happy to sniff and pass the time of day with the little terrier. I think the Retriever decided that terriers were best avoided!!
Bert is a dear little friendly boy. I hope he finds his forever home soon so he doesn’t have to spend much longer in kennels.

Little Bert didn't want to walk far on Saturday so we went to the park where he had a cuddle and some sausages!

What more can I say about Bert? I can’t understand why he’s still in kennels – he’s a lovely little chap.
He was pleased to be out in the rain at the weekend and we went to the river and then back along the tow path. We met an off-lead terrier who was very friendly and Bert was happy to share a mutual sniff. He laid down when the dog continued in the opposite direction - I think he'd liked to have gone with him!
We carried on when Bert was ready and stopped at a sheltered bench for his sausage break. He then walked all the way back to the kennels without lying down once - what a good boy Bert love4.gif love4.gif

As Bert isn’t always keen on walking down the kennel drive I tried a different tactic on Saturday and popped him in a crate on the back seat of my car (he was in a great hurry to get in!)

I drove him the short distance to the car park by the river and then had a walk from there.

He started with great enthusiasm but still lay down when he felt like it. I wish I knew why as when he wants to go he walks very quickly with great purpose. We sat by the picnic benches for a while – Bert thought they were great fun to climb on and then he sat on my lap for a cuddle.

Please someone offer this gorgeous friendly boy a home before the winter sets in love4.gif

Bert enjoyed 2 of his favourite things on Saturday. First he found a puddle which he paddled and laid down in!

He then played with a squeaky ball in the park. He enjoyed it even if everyone else nearby didn't 0002.gif]

Bert and I shared some quality tennis ball time today! Why this dear little boy is still in kennels I have no idea. Come on Bert's home

Bert and I (plus his tennis balls!) took a ride in the car to the park this morning. Bert was happy to play with the balls on the grass but he didn't want to walk far. He's very active though so I'm sure that once he's settled in a home he'll enjoy getting out and about. He's keen to get in the car and travels quietly in a crate.
