Foster Bank Holiday weekend- camping in Dartmoor

Basil spent a long weekend camping out in Dartmoor over the Bank holiday weekend. I was pleased with how well he took to camping, treking and he even climbed up Hay Tor. When the tempertaures dropped to freezing at night he let me put a warm dog coat on him and wrap him in blankets with just his head poking out. Basil is a great little dog for taking out places, he has enough energy to keep up and makes trips entertaining with his always eager personality.

How lovely Basil gets regular breaks :D

Today I walked the lovely Basil .He is so good letting me put his muzzle on.We walked with Lara and his walker. Lara doesn't have much confidence walking alone at moment but she did well today, following the lovely Basil. Both dogs got on amazing.Lara really loves being close to Basil and he didn't mind at all in fact he enjoyed it. We stopped to let a off lead dog pass and both dogs was perfect.I think everytime I walk Basil he seems better with dogs. :smiley-chores002.gif:

Basil's been to Somerset :)
Basil spent the past 4 days on a trip to Somerset. He travels very well in a crate and settles quickly. At the campsite he had a whole field to himself to enjoy but spent most of his time with his head in the bushes following rabbit and badger scents or sunbathing. A very well behaved dog on day trips out, he happily trotted to heal while roaming the caves and climbing up Glastonburys Tor. He came face to face with a lot of wildlife, and boy do you know when hes spotted a squirrel he has you running circles behind him around and around the tree. Just a Patterdale doing his thing! :smiley-chores002.gif:

Basil really isnt a high maintenance dog, yes he requires a muzzle in public but that hasn't stopped him in going out on numerous excursions & I may be slightly bias but he is more behaved and obedient in public then a fair few other dogs we've come across. He settles very quickly into new surroundings and is very adaptable as he has proved on numerous foster weekends out of kennels. He needs a home where he is given the respect he needs in regards to his own space etc (i.e when resting let him rest in peace) and where he is given clear and consice commands so he know where he stands and in return he will give you hours of entertainment and companionship. :smiley-gen132.gif:

Little Basil and I went on a walk yesterday with Daisy with her walker Tara,Lara with her walker Mateus. All dogs got on well. Basil gets on with all his kennel friends and enjoys company. Daisy especially couldn't keep her eyes off him in a playful way ,her tail wagging , he didn't care or want to play with her just get on with his sniffing and having terrier fun. lol.gif ,He really loves his walks rolling about especially fox perfume :D.

Basil is very much a lap dog
Basil is very much a lap dog
Love spending time with Basil, He loves to sit on lap and have a cuddle. Monday was a hot afternoon so we just hang out in paddock. Basil wasn't interested in the toys , just wanted lots of attention and belly rubs. Such a cutie. love4.gif

Here is Basil showing new walker Lynne just how wonderful RR dogs are! As soon as she crouched down for a photo, he leapt up on her lap for this perfect pose! Such a lovely boy!

Opps had the very great pleasure of escorting Basil to our vets for his annual booster. We then enjoyed 30 mins in SarahK garden he rolled and rolled enjoying the grass...sadly this was after I'd just put a clean harness on him would have been fine it it was a green one! Lovely time together so lovely to reacquaint with this dear little soul.

Basil was my first walk of a Patterdale sometime ago now. I totally fell in love with him and took him on one of our charity walks. Rather chuffed that our photo together on the walk is featured on his front page! He really is a dear little soul and it breaks my heart that nobody has come forward to offer him a forever home. Somebody is seriously missing out. Please consider giving this gorgeous boy a home :please.gif: xx

Basil showed Simon the ropes on Saturday and when it came to putting the muzzle on, he just put his noze straight in and waited for it to be done up! At the side of the road he sat every time (even when not even asked?) and he seemed to love the nice long walk over to Compton with Clover they walked lovely together, both doing their own thing, snuffling along and no reaction to any of the dogs we meet along the way.

I had the pleasure of meeting and walking little Basil yesterday, what a super wee fella ! We got all set for our walk and trotted off with walker Jo and RR dog Boycie, it was a little and large outing (the dogs that is !) :0)

I have to say I spent most of the walk looking down to check Basil was actually still there ! Walked beautifully on the lead at my pace, slack lead all the way - such a good boy having a good old sniff of the leaves, stopping periodically for treats - yum !

Look at that wonky strap, you just can't get the staff these days can you Basil !

A real sweetie, hope he finds his home soon x
