Homing Requirements: Daisy needs a family who will accept that Daisy is not generally good with other dogs but that she does form some dog friendships. Daisy should be carefully managed outside and confidently secured to prevent her from darting through the front door; she needs a terrier-proof back garden. Daisy is a delightful terrier in a terrier person's hands.

Her Story: Daisy has been through three homes due to her feisty terrier behaviour and because she is 'not good with dogs'. Daisy is neutered, chipped and vax'd. She is currently living with her family near Cardiff.

Advert: Daisy bonds strongly with her family; she is affectionate and loves to be petted. She likes to find warm places to doze. Daisy doesn't guard her food and isn't a greedy or fussy eater. She pulls on the lead a bit, especially at the start of a walk, but walks better to heel if a Halti collar is used. If given the opportunity she'll find a window where she can keep an eye on the street and anyone walking up the drive. Daisy loves to be brushed and combed and will stand still for this with no prompting.

Daisy is just 4 years old Parson's Jack Russell. She loves to play, especially to chase and catch tennis balls, but doesn't like to let go. She has spent holidays in local kennels. Daisy can be anxious upon the arrival of visitors but settles down. She is walked with carefully selected dogs, but she is defensive with most. Daisy needs a family to bring her into safety and shield her from dog encounters by keeping to low dog density areas so she can relax and enjoy life within her home and with her owners.

Original Referral Details: Daisy recently got out of her owners garden and got caught up with another dog and the owner is now putting pressure on her family to rehome her out of the area. The family had put a lot of work into her but now feel deflated. They have asked terrierrescue to find a terrier aware family

Daisy's had a lovely Christmas and New Year, lots of good walks over the fields, and a couple of trips into the loft to find "stuff". She likes to explore "stuff", especially if it has interesting smells, and particularly if it's in the loft!

Lovely day for a walk without rain for once! Daisy loves this place, where she can really run around and go in and out of bramble patches.

Daisy found herself in the mirror quite a long time ago, and although she now knows it isn't another dog, she's still very amused by what happens when she gets in between the wardrobe doors! She also enjoys rolling a ball and watching it in the mirror, has given up going into the next room to find it though as that proved to be a bit embarrassing when it wasn't there...

Daisy is such a lovely girl. I know her parents have worked very hard with her so far, I wonder if they have read a book called Behaviour Adjustment Training by Grisha Stewart BAT for Fear, Frustration and Aggression in Dogs. It is well worth the price. I am currently working on my 2nd rescue terrier with this method, it does reap results. xx :smiley-signs002.gif:

She looks like she has bags of personality. I hope she finds the right home - someone will be lucky to have her.

I wondered how Daisy is getting along. My feisty terrier bitch was aggressive with most dogs when she was young......it took time and patience and careful socialising to get to where we are today, calm and sociable but still feisty at times. I do hope someone out there will see the positive side of adopting Daisy and the results are so rewarding for everyone, especially the dog. A happy life with a loving friend. Bless her.
