Re: Ivor Lurcher DofB 2017 West Wales comes end June

He's beautiful. love4.gif Even looks like there may be Pharaoh Hound in him. Unfortunately for me, my other half has forbidden me to adopt any more dogs for the foreseeable future. crying1.gif]

Hope you find a lovely family, Ivor! :crossfingers.gif:

Re: Best way to introduce a rescue dog into new home?

I concur with what Deborah has said. Slow and steady wins the race. Take them for a group walk and get them happy with each other's presence before introducing in the house. I have a sensitive dog, who is actually good with other dogs, but is insecure. We lost one of our dogs to cancer, so we introd...

Re: Shaggy dog story?

Awesome story, but why in the world did the editors use a photo of a King Charles Spaniel at the top of the article instead of her Beagle?!

Re: Stevie Staffie DOB 25.02.04 - 09.05.18

[cry.gif] [cry.gif] Stevie, you were the first RR dog that I walked. You were also the first naughty dog I walked many weeks later too! I was so happy when Marion found you. Your heart only grew weak because it was so big - you loved your humans dearly. I'll never forget you, sweet boy. Rest in peac...

Re: Akita feeding article

With regard to fasting, I think it depends on the dog. Its age and state of health will matter. I don't think I'd fast a puppy or an infirm dog. My own dogs just wouldn't understand why they weren't getting fed - it would feel cruel to me to fast them when food is such an important part of their day...

Re: Akita feeding article

I just went to http://www.akita-dog.com and looked at the Bloat and Food (the link on the Bloat page) pages and the info you posted was there. I largely agree with what they've written. The one exception is where they say "...small amounts of fruits and vegetables are fed and this allows the body to...

Re: Akita feeding article

The link was broken for me too. smiley-sad041.gif Mine are mostly fed raw minces (including a spoonful of blitzed veg) from a local provider. They also get a high quality kibble (Lukullus) as training treats. It's treats to them, anyway! 0002.gif] For an after dinner chew, to keep their teeth clean,...

Re: Patterdale excessive shedding

Hi, I'm sorry that us forum members have not commented sooner. I'm not an expert on Patterdales, but I have had several other short/smooth coated dogs. They do shed. And most of mine have had dark coats, so woe betide me when I wear white and my dogs want a cuddle! I use a sticky roller to grab fur ...
