Re: Benny Whippet Lurcher DOB 02.08 Barton on Sea

Awww, thank you, John. We are lucky to have seen such progress over the years with Benny. thumbs.gif Aside from a vet aversion, a case of 'stranger danger' (that does not include any danger of biting, unless he is being held or is at the vet), and a fear of anything new, including garments, collars,...

Re: Knitting Dog Warmers / Jumpers

I also found this link to some other free easy/intermediate crochet dog jumpers. Don't know how long the link will be good, but Yarnspirations might have the patterns up for a while. http://www.yarnspirations.com/gb/croche ... /pets/dogs

Re: Knitting Dog Warmers / Jumpers

First effort. This one is Terrier sized. Possibly best for a long bodied Terrier. I used a 10mm hook, per the instructions, but I must be a very tight knitter, as it came out at least one size smaller than the pattern! 10mm is a huge hook, so I was surprised. It's the largest hook I have and I had t...

Re: Benny Whippet Lurcher DOB 02.08 Barton on Sea

Benny is an older boy now. He still loves his walks, but now he chooses whether he wants to go or not. If he doesn't want to go, he will growl at me. This happens maybe 2-4 times a month now. It's a special kind of growl - I know what it means. He escalates if I don't get the message the first time!...

Re: Jessie Staffie DOB 03.2010 Barton on Sea

Let me tell you a little story about our Jess. We knew she was a Staffie cross when we adopted her, but we didn’t know what else might have been in her ancestry. We have decided that she is probably a Staffie crossed with a monkey. Or perhaps a wildcat of some sort. Maybe both. FoodMat.jpg AtHome.jp...

He's beautiful. love4.gif Even looks like there may be Pharaoh Hound in him. Unfortunately for me, my other half has forbidden me to adopt any more dogs for the foreseeable future. crying1.gif]

Hope you find a lovely family, Ivor! :crossfingers.gif:

Re: Best way to introduce a rescue dog into new home?

I concur with what Deborah has said. Slow and steady wins the race. Take them for a group walk and get them happy with each other's presence before introducing in the house. I have a sensitive dog, who is actually good with other dogs, but is insecure. We lost one of our dogs to cancer, so we introd...
